villa4europe
if a mechanic probably 35 - 40 years old did you a favour and said "get me a bottle of something" rather than pay him what would you get? I'm thinking either a 24 pack of cans or a bottle of jack daniels
MakemineVanilla
if a mechanic probably 35 - 40 years old did you a favour and said "get me a bottle of something" rather than pay him what would you get? I'm thinking either a 24 pack of cans or a bottle of jack daniels With a lot of spirits it is very much a case of love it or hate it, so if I didn't know someone's preference I would definitely buy them some vodka. Virtually tasteless and easily disguised with a mixer of choice. Edited December 4, 2014 by MakemineVanilla

villa4europe
Anyone have suggestions for some nice rum? Besides the usual ones. Depends what kind of rum you like personally I can't do what I'd call proper dark navy rum like lambs but at the same time I can't do anything sweeter than sailor jerry, oak heart or whatever it's called for example, way too much going on, my personal favourite is Havana club no 7 but the only place I can suggest to get that from is duty free, my new rum is Kraken, that is a bit sweet but nails the balance, started selling it in morrisons now too, £22 a bottle I think
packoman
Nice one! I've actually been wanting to try a bottle of Kraken for a while, so will try that and keep an eye out for the Havana Club. I don't mind the really dark rum, but definitely prefer something a bit lighter.
MakemineVanilla
Anyone have suggestions for some nice rum? Besides the usual ones. El Dorado 21 year-old is considered absolutely top notch by rum connoisseurs. (£72)
