I wonder what happened to the hostages being held by Hamas?

Are they still alive and being held somewhere secure inside Gaza?

Or are they now presumed dead?

I imagine their chances are somewhat improved if not being held at a school, medical facility or refugee shelter.

Looking forward to some positive action on Israel soon, once the left choose a PM in France and when the new Labour attorney general reviews the UK's legal position. There is such a staggering disregard for life from Israel, they are taking the piss. International push back, of some substance is sorely needed.

Why do you imagine France is about to U-Turn? The left won’t have a majority to do that

Positive action. Of course they'll be blocked but as the largest grouping in French governance they'll be vocal. This is different to having Macron's party in charge.

How would that make a difference?  France will tell Israel that they are being naughty, Israel will shrug, say ok, and carry on as normal.

France won’t even do that. Macron is still President.

Nobody can stop a country like Israel, or Russia, from murdering civilians. But they can be condemned, and eventually that pressure builds. It can't build if everyone shrugs and says so what.

Yes, apparently they’ve been designating civilian safe zones and then bombing them, again.

This is where we see if Labour Friends Of Israel is a two way deal, or just foreign state interference.

We all know the answer to that. Alan Duncan is right when it comes to the influence the 'friends of Israel' has and what that really is.

Mecha-Hitler could be walking through the middle of the area, it doesn't justify killing hundreds of innocents.

So yeah. **** scum.

It's like having a school shooter locked in a school with the kids hiding in different classrooms and deciding the best solution is an airstrike.

True but, hear me out... What if you really wanted the land the school was on? And what if a lot of the people making the decision on bombing the school thought the occupants were subhuman scum? Then it's a no-brainer to bomb the school, right?

Air strike on area where high level terrorist scumbags were hiding amongst civilians (again).

That there is a war crime (again).

Yup. Hamas' entire strategy is based on war crimes and yet they somehow remain blameless.

Blameless? I guess you’re new to the thread.

David Lammy met with both sides yesterday pushing for immediate ceasefire. Wonder if that'll take the wind out of Corbyn's coalition
