Read an excellent line the other day, that (paraphrasing) the problems in the Middle East are fundamentally due to the lack of a solution to the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire. Sounds grossly simplistic at first, but if you think about those problems for a while it’s really not.

Regardless of who is right or wrong -:surrender is sometimes the best option. The Israeli state has reneged on several occasions any kind of agreements or treaties. Put yourself in the shoes of the Palestinian people. Surrender? What for? Just lie down and take it or would you rather die clinging to what little dignity you have left. Either way, they'll be killed, starved or live in eternal imprisonment.

You're undermining the idea of a palestinian state. Could you ever in this current world point to histrionics and deny Israel of a land? So why Palestine? You don’t get one without the other I’m undermining nothing I’m stating the history of the region I don’t even understand your final paragraph sorry, I’m not sure what melodrama or exaggeration has to do with anything I’ve said. It was virtually a prison. But it was self governing, had decent medical facilities, there was no hunger. You honestly think that a normal Palestinian would choose death over the Gaza Strip before the invasion? Nope. I'd much rather they surrendered now and save lives.
