VILLAMARV
We need a win here. Tough looking game against Sheff Utd to come next a week on Tuesday. All season has been a reminder of what it's like when every game means something - unlike in the premier league. UTV
Demitri_C
I have gone for 1-1, we batter them they score against run of play and we equalize
lexicon
Should be a slam dunk. Barnsley are not in good form and are poor away from home, we're in good form and solid at home. I'm far too cynical to predict a comfy win but that's what we should be going for this weekend.
mjmooney Posted January 18, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted January 18, 2018 I'll stick with my usual prediction of an embarrassing defeat and a meltdown in the Bruce thread. 1
BOF Posted January 18, 2018 Moderator Share Posted January 18, 2018 I've added us to my accumulator this week. So, eh, yeah sorry about that everyone.

BleedClaretAndBlue
I dont think theyre as bad as people make out. They actually played alright when we beat them at their place. Will be tricky, as always when we're expected to win. Think it will be a marginal win. 2-1 with plenty of squeaky bums
Alexbass08
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-injuries-barnsley-stream-14166214 Doubts on Jedi and Whelan, which to be honest I'm not the worried about. A start for Thor at CDM I think would be good even if the weren't injured, might give us some more attacking football. Might be a blessing in diguise.
bobzy
Barnsley are a decent footballing side, the likes of which usually cause us problems. However, I think we'll be too strong for them. 3-0 - Hogan, Grealish and Snodgrass

People need to see that if they come on and impress then they're in contention to start games rather than the same starting 11 being picked regardless. Give the guys something to work towards and we'll be all the better for it. BB? Bjarnson, Bannan or Balaban?
AJ
I remember reading elsewhere before the reverse game, a fan said they weren't concerned about us because we were kittens, then we beat them 3 zip. Maybe they should opt to play in the brown pants, because I am thinking a whuppin' is coming their way.
Demitri_C
We need to start consistently beating teams at home, scored scored could be vital towards end of season . Bloody Sunderland didnt help us by getting battered 4-0. shower of shite team
omariqy
Barnsley can be a decent side on their day. They play decent football. I think it will be tougher than we think.

alreadyexists Posted January 19, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted January 19, 2018 I think I’d go with: Johnstone Elmo Terry Chester Hutton Jedinak Snoddy Hourinane Grealish Adomah Hogan I think Hutton has earned his left back position, I would have our Taylor there but we’re winning and Hutton has done well. Everybody else has also earned their start. Come on you Villa boys!!

rubberman
I'm excited about this. We don't seem to have many doubtful so assume that it'll be pretty much unchanged. Really hope Bristol can get something tonight, but even if not we keep the pressure on. 2-
Nigel Posted January 19, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted January 19, 2018 Wolves doidnt manage a shot on target against these, and that was at home. Its no great detective work to see how these will approach the game so i dont know if Jedi or whelan will be needed. Would keep Thor on here as he offers more going forward.
