Is that about 5 years in a row now they've changed how they interpret handball? And then poorly worded it and transcribed it to fans

We don't stand a chance

And that's before the first game where a bizarre make it up as they go along decision is made

Especially when it favours the sky scum teams

"We will see a significant drop in stoppage time this season - because of a change in timing goal celebrations. Until now, time was added on for every second between the ball hitting the net and the kick-off being taken. Now, the clock will only be started after 30 seconds. So a game with six goals would have three minutes less of stoppage time." WTAF FFS

They never added that much time on in the first place.

new rule changes for the coming season..

don't understand why we have to wait for the semi - automated offside tech

VAR not to get involved in subjective decisions!!! Does that mean they won't go back and look at the build up when a goal is scored?

Semi-automated offsides will be introduced but won't start until AFTER the international break in September, October or even November.

Only the captain can speak to the referee. Any other player will be automatically carded if they confront officials.

Referees will no longer automatically give a yellow card for non-deliberate handballs.

VAR officials will not get involved in subjective decisions: only CLEAR and OBVIOUS errors will be looked at.

Team news will now be released 75 minutes before kick-off.

No mid-season/Christmas break for the players

Stoppage time will be shorter.

There is a new Premier League Match Centre social-media account (@PLMatchCentre) that will communicate the facts regarding VAR decisions.

not a **** chance that happens or is done properly, that's making a rod for their own back and will be caked in conspiracy theories and bias calls from game 1

klopps gone and so has his break

again, will just lead to more shite, how do they define subjective? or clear and obvious? all it does is create a grey area to do what they want, maybe not game 1 but this weekend will have at least 1 controversial decision

as an example of this -

Another rule change

  • Blocking at set-pieces: Players will be more strictly penalised for blocking or obstructing opponents at set-pieces

Hopefully this will stop Ben White getting away with fouling the goalkeeper every time Arsenal get a corner.

I'm sure they'd already introduced the captain rule in previous seasons?

I'm pretty sure they've announced that 'rule' ahead of every season for the last 15-20 seasons.

Gets respected for the first weekend, then just goes back to normal from then on.

This is just nonsense. The problem with subjective decisions is that they're subjective? What 1 person deems to be clear and obvious is not what someone else deems clear and obvious. It will just be the exact same as it is now.

Refs at the Euros were good with that rule

The captain rule is really good but the premier league (or football in general) don't have the balls to enforce that.

We'll see it for a couple of weeks then they'll just forget about it

And the blocking one about 5 seasons ago. They'll be 7 penalties the first week and will never be seen again. Again.

There was one in the Utd match last night. 2 Utd players prevented the free kick being taken...... The Fulham player was booked for pointing out the Utd players should have been booked.

Maguire was in the refs ear all night even though Bruno was captain.

No player in PL during the last decade has been more protected by the refs than Maguire. Guy is an oaf but gets away with everything. On second thought the most protected player is obviously Rodri, but apart from him it's Maguire.

Rodri has a slyness about him though, same as busquets he's got it down to a skill and he's very good at it

Like you say Maguire is just an oaf

Yeah Rodri is fantastic. But if the refs actually booked him for the cynical/tactical fouls he'd be suspended more than he'd play.
