Smith mentioned it in the post and Whelan was the main culprit. We didn't pass between the lines or anywhere near quick enough first 30 minutes. We invited so much pressure with slow sloppy sideways passes.
poitier
I thought he did ok-ish for the most part, problems in midfield were exacerbated by Hourihane also being slow, weak and passing poorly, so the two together wasn't a strong combination. Dr_Pangloss
Not dynamic enough, out of place in this set up to be honest, decent enough option as a squad player but there's a noticeable difference when he's in the side and that's not a positive difference.

Stratvillan
Don't like the idea of a cdm, but I think he does it well.
Tomaszk
Given the toughest role in the team and did his best. Took responsibility to get on the ball and get us moving.
AndyM3000
Too slow for me. Looks to go backwards or sideways a lot and rarely turns to face the opponents goal and drive us forward. He struggled to find the pass to our more attacking players.
TrentVilla Posted November 25, 2018 Moderator Share Posted November 25, 2018 I think he is a liability every time he plays personally.
mikeyp102
Didn’t think he was that bad, Hourihane was a lot worse for me. Yes he lost the ball a couple of times, but would then win it back. He tires second half though as his legs are giving way.
7392craig
I think he is absolute pants tbh. He always gives the ball away with how much time it takes him to take a touch, look up and pass it. He really is a liability.
Popular Post mykeyb
He is deceptive across the pitch because he doesn't look the fastest but is actually slower than he looks.... 2

Whelan and Jedinak are great servants and honest pros but not Smith players Would never question effort of either

I would bet closer to 100 - 130k? Jedinak 40ish? Whelan 30ish? Lansbury 40ish? Then add Richard's and McCormack on 50-80k between them???, the amount of weekly wages on tripe astonishes and boggles the mind imagine if we could free all those wages up and spend it on decent players... wouldn't be surprised if we spend close to 250k a week on players who we don't really want .... I was trying to be conservative, I think it’s around the £100k, I know Lansbury is on £40k, I was thinking £30k each.

Not for the wages they get but i think Whelan and Jedinak seem like good dressing room players. Lansvury no idea what he does But think we are going forward. A long time since we looked to sign footballers in midfield. So refreshing
