I think she knows it , listen to her speech last night it was clearly " the party " and not " Me" but her first order of the day I guess is to get a government in place ... I'd imagine when "we" were calling for Brown to go after 2010 there were many defending him (probably some of the same people now saying May has to go !!) saying he had a right to try and put a government in place ? I'd be amazed if she stays in place for long .... That does beg the question of whether someone, who is effectively a political 'dead-person walking', should be allowed to be the one to construct the next government as they walk out the door?

She cannot answer anything for the fear of offending a fellow Tory/misrepresenting what she's been told to churn out. Just stick to the slogans and insults, can't get those wrong. She is quite the opposite of strong and stable - but, then, it just highlights what a bunch of nasty cowards the Conservatives are - so, y'know... The real question the powerbrokers inside the tory party should be getting answers to are who were involved in the decision to go for a snap election, who decided how the campaign was run and who told Theresa May not to go toe to toe with the other leaders in any of the tv debates because from start to fisnish is has been an utter trainwreck. Kind of "Here we are, we've had all this stuff about JC and the IRA and Hamas and hezbollah and terrorst sympathiser must be kept out of number 10, and isn't it ironic that we've now got T.May in bed with the friends of the UVF". I doubt you'd be so generous had a Mail article done similar I think in VT terms it was more an "Ahh but " than irony .. but I guess only the author knows for sure ... In 2010 an independent report was produced the UK NHS was the most efficient in the world. I work in the NHS. It got really messy in 2010 - when everyone was getting redundancy payments, and then applying for then own jobs, - covering for the many decent staff that just upped and left. We had that totally unnecessary re organisation - which created massive bureaucracy for absolutely zero end product. If you don't labour fair enough. But youre backing a looser if you think they aren't the architects of the current mess in the NHS. I'm not entrenched enough to make this about one or the other. I work in policy, my focus is on robust delivery. Labour were the architects for many things the Tories then continued effing up, but Labour voters struggle to accept that....well, not Corbyn.... NHS computer systems, PFI, agency staff, levels of management, expensive procurement contracts, private provision of services all promoted heavily by Labour. Many of the same errors were made in employment services and benefits (including the mental health contract I worked on). The waste of money and talent was incredible. I'm not defending what happened after Brown/Blair but I'm not going to ignore what happened before. I also worked for the QEH while it was being built....what a mess of an opening that was! Those costs are horrific and in many cases the spend did little to nothing to improve care. In many cases care was made worse, especially when PFI built shoddy hospitals with plugs and even air conditioning in the wrong places (v important when you have multi-million £ very hot machines that work 13+ hours a day). Or schools built on large frameworks that electrocuted teachers and students....yup, it happened! I also think many patients in Mid-Staffs might disagree with that report...... Oh and I have never voted Labour because they might as well have been conservatives; but at least the Conservatives tell you from the start how they're going to shaft you! I'm a broken record but this is the first time in my voting lifetime that I genuinely feel the Labour party represents many of my values. I agree that Canterbury is a bit of a weird one. However it's a uni town with a big younger population, so if you look at the demographics it's not that weird. I have no answer as to how to swing the tide in an area like Hampshire other than keeping up the good work that Corbyn did at being more mainstream. People down here are put off by extremes, which is why Theresa May has seen a lot of loss of support too. Hell even the most conservative friend I know who owns a big farm outside Alton spoke warmly about Corbyn the other day. Times they are a changin'. (well ok you'd run out of likes , but your post implied it would have been forthcoming) She's was just lasts weeks figure of fun as far as I could see , that she's not overly liked by a lot of people ( partly legacy , partly her own comments ) has just meant the meme has gone on a bit longer , plus the fact she then re-appeared just as everyone had forgotten and did the policy equivalent of Redwood singing the Welsh national anthem next week it will be some over politicians turn ...
