Wonder if the fact we have 3 aircraft carriers heading towards the baltic sea will have any affect on long range attacks into Russia from the Ukraine. Certainly gives us a quick response if Russia gets trigger happy

I assume the ones being sent to fight have family in North Korea.

If the seek asylum  their families will be "re-educated".

They won’t be allowed back in. They’re dead. They’ll be exposed to everything the world has to offer, internet, tea, alcohol, porn, South Korea not being a Nazi country. Kim won’t have them back, either they die in battle or they get executed.

What would Kim do with even 5000 men who came back with actual experience and who have had their brains reset? They could likely overthrow the whole country.

Ukraine have been so blindingly effective at taking out Russian surveillance drones with their own FPV variants that Western tanks can now actually operate quite freely, the internet is flush with Leopard 2's, CV90's, Bradleys and Abrams absolutely taking Russian armored assaults apart. Have a look at this Leo 2 operating at the very front with it's stabilised gun like some sort of maniac. A year ago it would have been hit by several FPVs.

Last week was the deadliest week for Russia's forces so far in the war. 10400 men in a week.

No wonder Putin is getting some cheap meat waves in from North Korea. Not that I think they'll drastically change anything.

The 5000 or so NK soldiers currently training to go into Ukraine should last 3-4 days. Meanwhile South Korea are making some real noise about starting to send lethal aid to Ukraine, or better yet, back-filling European stocks so that we can give more.

Not so sure on this. I think the NK troops will be used in Kursk not Ukraine.

NK troops being used to defend Russia not assist with the invasion of Ukraine is a distinctly different prospect in the eyes of the world

North Koreans deployed alongside Russian troops in Ukraine, sources say

Quote

North Koreans were among the dead after a Ukrainian missile strike on Russian-occupied territory near Donetsk last week, South Korean and Ukrainian officials said. It was not clear if they were military engineers or other forces.

I mean it could be propaganda, but I just don't see how Russia is going to manage to keep themselves from sacrificing them.. South Korea has images of North Koreans in occupied territories, which is why they're so angry.

A further story from South Korea.

Facial recognition identifies N.Korean engineer at Russia missile launch

Quote

South Korea's intelligence agency says it has identified a North Korean missile engineer attending a Russian missile launch on the frontline in eastern Ukraine.

One of Putin's friendly journalists wrote an article last week talking about Ukraine's right to exist and for its people to decide their own fate  , in itself it doesn't add much  , but is at odds with Putin's Imperialist aims and stance that Russians and Ukrainians are one people

But based on his relationship  it could suggest he's either gone rogue or the Russian people are being softened up for a" we achieved our goals and de-nazified Ukraine " type announcement at some point in the future

Wait until the North Korean media finds out about North Korean soldiers dying on Ukrainian soil. There will be outrage. Kim will have a tough job getting a majority in parliament in the next election.

There's a more logical thing that's not being talked about. If I were in Putin's situation, one option would be to send RU troops that are stationed 'on guard' around the borders, over to Ukraine, then in their place have NK troops do sentry in Aresendofnowhereski. Advantage would be that it looks less like the conflict is spreading internationally, but more Russians die.

But then, if I'm Putler, I don't think like that. I'd realise that these were the Russians who could bribe their way to cushy safe positions. The middle classes. Yeah, actually, **** it. Send in the Norks, **** 'em.
