Obviously that's not what I'm saying . What's worked is he's kept Ukraine living off scraps instead of being supported probably. Leaders all over the world are facing pressure at home about the help being provided already when domestic issues are troubling the local population. See America and Germany in particular. AshVilla Posted Friday at 10:18 Share Posted Friday at 10:18 This latest threat from Putin seems a bit more stern than those made in the past. He also specifically called the press conference himself to give these warnings and hasn't done so this time through any of his intermediaries such as Lavrov or Medvedev. Maybe he's serious this time, he can't keep making threats like this and not backing them up not only does it make him look weak to the West but he also has China looking over his shoulder and if they smell any weakness they could decide they want to have Vladyvostok back or other parts of Manchuria. The sharks are circling.

It's because he really, really doesn't want Ukraine to be able to attack targets in Russia. It would give Ukraine a huge boost in the war and could stop Russia from launching glide bombs and/or blowing up power stations. It could even make the F-16's Ukraine are supposed to be getting more effective and allow Ukraine to destroy power stations/airfields inside Russia. As for him being serious about his threats, what exactly is his threat? What is this escalation? It doesn't exist. Also would cause mounting political pressure on him from within Russia if little old Ukraine is hitting sites and keeping them all awake at night.

I'd pity that bot, it'd have to spend all of its time translating fish puns into Russian, then with the rest of its time split between sorting out if the new badge is any good and who Kenneth Williams is. 1

Let's not forget that Putin said Kherson would be Russian forever. Five weeks later the Russian army ran away.

Russia wouldn't last 14 days if they attacked a NATO country.
Jareth Posted Friday at 11:53 Share Posted Friday at 11:53 What's he going to do? I mean what measure can he take in retaliation that is equal to Ukraine using these missiles? He can't bomb anything in Nato territory, he can't supply weapons to other countries to strike Western targets, and he can't use nuclear weapons. Perhaps he'll be cutting some more undersea cables, assassinating western folks abroad - but he seems to be out of options.

The Russian Military would be utterly destroyed easily by NATO, at this point even by Wester Europe. So is choice for proper retaliation is to see the end of life on earth. Yes, he could attack a few undersea cables and pipes but it's not going to help in his war.
