Twitter is funny today.

Russia has set up false accounts that are pretending to be everyday Finish citizens.

The themed message of these accounts is that NATO would not be able to save Finland from a Russian attack.

But.........they've cocked it up.

They have confused the word "Save - to rescue" with the similar word "Save - to download a computer file".

There are now thousands of tweets saying things like "NATO cannot download us" and "Download us from NATO".

Is Musk aware? He can put better translations of dangerous bot accounts on his to-do list.

There is homophobia everywhere in the world but it must be absolutely awful when your own president holds, and preaches such views.

If he truly believes what he's just prattled on about then he is seriously f##king mental. More so than we already knew.

He definitely believes it. He has a deluded view of the world where's he's the most powerful leader. A lot of that is due to the brown nosing of European leaders over the last few decades and of course corruption. He also has a nonsensical view of Russia and Soviet history. Orban, Luchensko, Putin, Xiping, North Korea and the rest of the worlds dictators behave pretty much the same, like dictators. It's nothing new.

My only worry now is what comes after Putin? Is the risk that he is seen on his own side as having been too weak, rather than too aggressive?

Hopefully it’s a bit like the UK and Brexit. Many people who previously thought they were a superpower to be feared and adored might have a reality check about their place in the world order.

Getting rid of Putin and pushing more energy into this war is never going to work. Vast majority should be able to see that.

Again, like us with the EU they should hopefully realise they need a more diplomatic, friendly and open relationship with the neighbours for everybody’s benefit.

Vast majority will not have a stake in this. Russia is a democracy only in name

Putin will be replaced by Putin Mk2

Then Putin Mk2 will go the way way as Mk1. Why would Mk2 venture off down that road?

My worry is rather than Putin Mk2 they get someone with less of a sense of self-preservation who has been hardened by the humiliations of the Ukraine invasion.

That's why the behind the scenes battles between the big players is interesting. There's only really one non-establishment player and that is Prigozhin but right now it seems like the military / government players are trying to edge him out of the picture but no-one really knows what is going on and what cards they have up their sleeves

EDIT: But yes I agree what comes in his wake could be much worse.

Simple but great quote from Biden

Quote

Addressing the people of Russia directly, Biden says the West was not plotting to attack Russia and that the war was never a necessity, but it is a tragedy.

He says President Putin chose this war, and he could easily end it.

If Russia stopped invading Ukraine it would stop the war, but if Ukraine stopped defending itself it would mean the end of Ukraine, he says.

He says that's why Ukraine is continuing to receive support from its Western allies.
