What about the next one, and the one after that. Putin's forces look weak, but there's no indication the security services aren't behind him? He must have a next move, or he'll be looking over his shoulder for as long as Putin lives Hitman.... he's currently surrounded by a small army, heavily equipped. I don't see any hitman deciding they want to die for nothing. Hitmen do it for the money. Of course he'll have a next move. Don't forget Prighozin doesn't just have troops in Russia. He'll have been planning this for a while and setting himself up for the consequences of these actions. Either way Putin has been massively weakened in the last 24 hours. He'll be more paranoid than Prighozin who doesn't give a shit about who he upsets in the Kremlin. Even the main man himself.

He’s actually showed he has more support that anyone thought before The enemies he has today, are the enemies he had last week. Thing is they now know a little bit of what he’s capable of and he’s not a bullshitter In the public maybe, those closest to Putin are the most dangerous. He’s been made to look very weak. Nothing about todays events makes much sense at the moment.

Right now, it’s Putin that needs to be careful. He’s essentially a puppet
tinker Posted June 24, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted June 24, 2023 Putins brought himself some time and stopped Moscow being overun with little or no defense, he had no choice tbh. He won't make that mistake again, Prighozin is a dead man walking.

sidcow Posted June 24, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted June 24, 2023 Wow. Shit revolution or what? Not to even make the Russian top 2 having got that close to Moscow is a bit crap.

Putin wanted him stopped , threatened him, but he couldn't stop him and gave him assurances that things will change if he stopped his forces entering Moscow. Not sure what happened to the Russian military, their air force especially could have stopped the convoy in its tracks. sne
Don't remember the details much but feels like the 91 coup d'etat attempt was more eventful that this one? The 93 crisis even had Yeltsin shelling the parliament building Guess this one is not over yet.

It may not be hugely representative of what's actually going on. So hard to work out wtf is going on right now. Clearly not good for Putin, but the extent of the threat, and the size of the opening for Ukraine to really batter Russia now... guess we'll just have to wait and find out. Marka Ragnos Posted June 24, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) I definitely now foresee Putin carefully setting up a Night of the Long Knives/Röhm Purge. Lukashenko has bought Putin some crucial time, and Prigozhin stupidly lost the initiative—he and his top brass are now walking dead men ... the poisoners will be coming for them.
