Steinmeier also has a very close relationship with Moscow and likely doesn’t want to go to Kyiv. hippo Posted April 13, 2022 Share Posted April 13, 2022 I was too young to remember the Cuban missile crisis but the build up of NATO troops - Finland and Sweden to decide on NATO membership in weeks some game of brinkmanship. Not at all. US has 100,000 forward in Europe right now, and had closer to 350,000 during the 1980’s - without using them. The Russian battalions around Mariupol will also need to be refreshed and replaced, it leaves gaps for UA to exploit.
