daggy_333
Just thought i'd be smug and say I was glad when we signed him again on loan This obviously means it'll all go tits up for him now and it'll be my fault....sorry in advance! alreadyexists Posted September 23, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted September 23, 2017 Absolutely great save to deny Forest at their free kick in the 87th min. Nice one Sam Johnstone.
sne
I'll raise my hand and admit he's been really solid. Well done Sam! And credit to Bruce who took a gamble on him despite a very shaky season last year.

djdabush
Grew in confidence towards the end of last season and looks excellent this one. Must be a real confidence booster having Terry there marshalling the defence.

Straggler
Ok I was wrong, it turns out that he does know how to do that goalkeeping thing. I had anticipated totting up the number of points he lost us as a contributing factor to missing promotion and here he is earning us points with good saves and commendably solid performances. I'm surprised as all hell, but very happily so. I've pretty much now cursed him to let in a howler tonight now though haven't i?
lexicon
It's funny what a bit of time and experience does for a young player, isn't it? Like most, I didn't see the potential that Johnstone has managed to unlock though - it's a remarkable turnaround from last season and I imagine we're trying hard to sort out a deal for him permanently. VILLAMARV
Still early days, but having said that I have to join in the general feeling in here that he was a massive question mark for me and now he's proved us all wrong. Keep it up lad.

Spoony
This guy doesn’t concede. That’s pretty important for a keeper. And he will never be a Man Utd starter. Time to make this one permanent.
Villarocker
If his season keeps going like it is, Manure will want £15m for him!

osmark86
One of our key players this season. Massively improved upon last year and been instrumental in many of our points. Another clean sheet yesterday and he didn't fall asleep even though he had an uneventful evening but did his thing when it was needed. I hope we can make it permanent without being torn apart by manure.
Demitri_C
Honestly I want to sign him now. He is a different keeper. Absolutely class this year. He has the potential to be a England international in no time if he keeps this up. Edited September 27, 2017 by Demitri_C
Guest av1
Its strange, even though he has been great this season, a kudos to him for that, he was so bad at times last season that i still feel a bit shaky with him in goal. Hopefully another couple of months of solid performances will wipe the memory of last season and alter my view.
wilko154
Brilliant for us this season. I don't think it's a coincidence that he has improved this season with John Terry playing in front of him. Sign him up.

Vive_La_Villa
Safe to say it is looking like this is one that Bruce has got right. Fair play because he looked very poor last season and I had my doubts. Looks a completely different player now.
