There was a fantastic goal scored tonight. by Guinea Bissau but they lost the match in the end
VillaChris
Only game I've watched in full was Algeria-Zimbabwe which was the one game in this tournament that was a tremendous watch. Hadn't heard of a single Zimbabwe player but they were brilliant and should've won...Algeria have lots of stars going forward but defensively they were really poor. Dosen't look like a standout team in this tournament...Ivory Coast aren't anything special anymore.
Popular Post sne
So I just got back from 2 weeks in Uganda, safe to say football is huge there. Probably 1/3rd of all the guys you see there is wearing a football jersey, most of them from a PL team. By far the most supported team is Man U, followed far behind by Chelsea and then Liverplop. Not sure but I think I saw 1 or possibly 2 Villa jerseys, but it was from the side through a car window so it might have been West Ham. Not a lot from 40 million people, but still. Watched Ghana vs Uganda in a bar before going to the airport, even thou they lost it was bonkers. They seem to love their keeper Onyango, who did have a good game. We wen't to airport in Entebbe just after the game and the town was totally deserted, which is quite the contrast from how it usually is. On average it took us at best 2 hours to get out of Kampala where we had our base. In rush hour it took up to 4 hours . Uganda really is a fascinating country, in 2 week we visited bustling cities, savanna (we saw wild lions and elephants along with hundreds of species of birds), mountain with rain forest (where we saw wild mountain gorillas), and another forest where we saw chimpanzees and 5 other species of monkeys. The Nile where we saw crocodiles, but no hippos this time. Also got in a bit of fishing on Lake Victoria and stayed on a tiny island in the Nile that will soon be under water due to a dam being built that will flood the whole area.. Turns out I was pretty much the only guy in the whole country with a beard , was even a few people who wanted to take pictures with me because of it . If you go there try the Nile Special Was a great trip all in all.

One For The Road
Is anyone actually watching this tournament? Is it me or has African football actually got worse in the last decade or so? I remember the really good sides of Cameroon in 1990, Nigeria in 94, Ghana in 2010 and now there doesn't seem to be a stand out side. They are all pretty average. Except for the ones who are just total ****. Morocco v Ivory Coast tomorrow night. Hopefully the IC lose and go out of the tournament so Johnny K will be back for Brentford. It's certainly possible. Zatman
teams have become a lot more tactical in the last 10-12 years or so and dont play with a freedom anymore. Go with the fact most midfields are full of athletes and no playmakers doesnt help thing John Obi Mikel is consistently one of the best playmakers in these tournaments which says it all
