Laughable, spineless stuff from Waistcoast.

I kind of disagree it kind of takes some spine to keep picking Maguire, Henderson and Phillips, that and stupidity.

Probably done the maths completely wrong as it was mental maths, but England have played 20 matches against Top 10 teams in the FIFA World Rankings under Southgate and won 6 of them. I wonder how that compares to say, Argentina.

He's the master of beating what he's expected to beat.  Can't win a game against anything remotely presenting a challenge.

Got lucky with who we've played at major tournaments. And has succeeded where others have failed in not generally falling over the lower hurdles. But there's zero chance we're winning anything with him.

His selections continue to amaze. Maguire.... again -_-

He’s only picking Maguire and Henderson to show us who’s boss. Everyone saying they shouldn’t be playing, yet only the man in charge gets to decide that. And guess what, you’re wrong - they will play cos cocknose says so!

He probably doesn't know or care than Konsa is English and having had to select Watkins after watching him score a hat-trick must have really hurt him. He certainly can't be blamed of favouritism, when it comes to picking players from the club he was at when he won his own first England cap. It's beyond a joke that he keeps picking players that don't play for their clubs, when he has used the opposite reason for not picking players in the past and don't get me started on Henderson, he moved to Saudi expecting not to be picked again. Still the FA will be very happy with their Mr Squeaky Clean.

What has recency bias got to remotely do with anything when Ollie has been one of the best strikers in the league for about a calendar year and consistently double decent at PL level for about 3?

Just why even put that caveat in there? Is he actually doing it on purpose? Not in a way to rile for VIlla fans but to go out of his way to be prickly to those that aren't in his "circle of trust"

Can't go on recency bias. This is some Henderson levels of double-speak.

He wouldn’t say this for an in form player at Chelsea. And yet only two players have more goal contributions than Ollie in the last 7 months. rocket polisher.

Ollie will get 20mins and if he doesn’t score 34 goals and suck Mason Mount off - and film it for Southgate’s collection, he won’t get in next time.

Even if you ignore the omission of Konsa, the continued selection of Maguire, Phillips and Henderson is just mental. They've all been good players, but not of them have been any good for a long time now and two of them have barely played for the last year.

No left back? Is there not a single left back in the country worth picking? Really? Not even a prospect you can bring into the squad to get to know the environment?

Gallagher? Is he playing better than Ward-Prowse or any other English midfielder? He's been awful for Chelsea. Not picking one or two players on form to keep a bit of coherence to the squad is fine, but it's getting ridiculous.

We've got a couple of genuinely world-class players in Kane and Bellingham and maybe a couple the level below that with Rice and Foden, if we are going to win anything then it's imperative you get the right supporting cast to get the best out of those players.

It feels like to Southgate, proving himself 'right' is more important than picking the best squad of players available, eventually, this kind of hubris will cost us and him.

It already has.

The Euros was an open goal and we did nothing at the world cup.

We played like total shit at both the tournaments we've had the best chance to win in 18 years.

Dont be ridiculous. Southgate always says players need experience, so why would he do something to give players experience? They need to sit at home and be told they don’t have that experience.
