tonyh29
Biggest Charlatan since Tim Sherwood wasted too many good players and stuck with too many shit ones but to give him credit he has played the media well and moved England away from the off field debacles we used to have I won’t stop laughing st whoever gives him a premier league job though .. I really hope it’s West Ham
DCJonah
This squad is too good to keep wasting it with Southgate.

AndyM3000
Failed at the first real challenge, again. Nowhere good enough, apart from Germany haven't beaten anyone around England's level and even struggled with teams below them (Denmark, Colombia, Croatia). avfc1982am
The only reason people trot out the bollox about Southgate bringing some form of team unity is because of the amount of apologists in the media licking his rear end. In reality he's failed at his job, miserably after several attempts.
penguin
The landmark wins of Southgate’s tournament football tenure are a group stage win against Croatia and a knockout win against a now demonstrably poor Germany side. Both on home turf during the Euros. Every other time we’ve come across a side around our level we’ve come short. This WC has been exactly the same. He has had some incredible luck in-terms of opponents and routes to progression, that this is used as a defence is borderline farcical to me.

andym
Didn't do anything massively wrong this time, but in major tournament knock out stages its fine margins that make the difference, and again he hasn't helped himself. Bringing on Sterling for Saka was not a good choice, particularly given the week Sterling has had, and waiting until the 96th minute then bringing on Grealish was bizarre. Ultimately, we keep coming up short any time we meet a team comparable to us, and in particular we struggle to create from open play; Croatia, Italy and France its just the 1 goal from open play. Then there's losing to Belgium and failing to qualify for 2020 nations league final, and losing to Italy to get relegated most recently; both games unable to score. He seems to have at least tried to have more of a go at teams this time, after blowing it in the previous two tournaments (scoring early but then going completely into our shell and trying to hold out for 80 minutes), but the inability to coach any good attacking play against the better sides really stands out, given the players he has at his disposal.

Gerrard retiring a few years earlier would have helped plus a lot of the Man Utd players off that era have all proven themselves arseholes off the pitch also. Also Lampard, Sol Campbell and John Terry. Peter Crouch turned out to be a loser who works for scumbag bookmakers too. Jesus they were a hateful bunch on reflection. Did relentlessly slagging off the team in the media lead to a lot of success previously?

Once it's become 'unacceptable to lose' we will simply never lose a match again. Football solved!

It’ll be a lot of turnover in the squad if it really becomes unacceptable to lose, and every player or manager involved in a loss is out for good.
