Popular Post Beastmix
Got my N64 and Gamecube looking pretty sharp. Did a shell swap, added a PicoBoot chip for SD card use, and popped some lights in the Cube. Switched out the N64 logo for the prototype 'Ultra 64' logo too. mark359
There is a Delta emulator currently available on the iPhone App Store. It allows any ROMs from NES, SNES, Gameboy and I think N64 To be played on the phone. I have only really tried gameboy and NES but it seems to work well! VillaJ100
Don't know if this counts as retro but trying to pick up a copy of Pokémon Heartgold on the DS. Jesus it's about £120 a copy.
UpTheVilla26
Considering it's a 10 year old game, I'd probably say it falls into this category. FIFA 14 I can't stop playing it. Have been on it solid for about 2 months. Cost me £1.50 in CEX. I dunno what it is about the game but I love it. I notched the shot power up to 53 and some of the goals I've scored have been so good. Just started a Villa career. I put them in the Championship cos the squad isn't the best. Benteke is ripping everyone to shreds though. Got the likes of Guzan, Vlaar, El Ahmadi, Weimann, Gabby etc... N'Zogbia has done more on this game in 8 matches than he did in his entire real Villa career. Shame I'm having to delve into the past for a footy fix but it's brilliant nostalgia. I'm even softening my stance on Delph as he's running my midfield

I've given up on collecting Pokémon games, it's absolutely ridiculous. The DS games are peak, but I can't justify paying those prices.

Yeah, I'm gonna walk the Championship if he stays fit. Tell you what did happen, I couldn't believe it. Albrighton is out for 7 months with a cruciate injury. Suffered in a game v Burnley and guess who 'tackled' him... Yep, Ben f##king Mee. Edited May 9 by UpTheVilla26
VillaJ100
My favourite part was always casting off Bennett, Clark, Baker etc to literally anyone who'd have them. The spine of that team usually becomes really good Okore, Delph and Benteke. There's some broken players as well like I think Rodwell develops into one of the best CM's there's ever been etc
GarethRDR
On one of the realllly old FIFAs, if you loaned out Ben Siegrist within one season he'd come back as prime Buffon. Edited May 9 by GarethRDR

I've loaned him out, so if he returns and is like 90 rated I'll be well happy
jacketspuds
I'm going to go back to playing International Superstar Soccer on the SNES. Had a brilliant mode called "scenario" where you join a famous historical match and have a limited amount of time to change the outcome. Excellent game.

Keyblade
I think pound for pound, Capcom is probably my favourite developer ever. They were really on an absolute tear in this era. They even had the RPG game on lock with the Breath of Fire series. Pretty much everything they touched was gold.

Other than for nostalgia purposes do any of them still hold up? If so which is the current best game? EA Sports FC or one of the older ones? Edit- I should say for career mode only. I don't muck about with UT. Edited July 8 by HKP90

I don't muck about with UT. I really like 14 but 2 things have ruined me doing a long Career mode. Prize money is stupid. I got a total of £6 when I did a Argentine save. I finished about 8th. All my players asked for new contracts, I couldn't afford it so they get listed by the board, it was a mess. The other thing, is the AI piss about a bit too much in and around the box. Instead of shooting they play an extra pass and it's annoying. So, I tried 15, 17, 18 and 19. All decent on their own rights but the one that I'm on and can't stop playing is FIFA 16. I've started as Oviedo and have had so much fun. I play on legendary and it is tough. The AI, IMO, are the best on any FIFA ever made. They will play it backwards if needs be and won't just do the stupid ping pong passing. I've conceded some very good long range goals as well. Obviously the older games feel a bit more clunky and not as smooth but for a Career mode I've got my fix with 16.

Is that the one with the journey as well? Had a lot of fun with that.
UpTheVilla26
No, I think the Journey started on FIFA 17 which is also a really good game. Anything from FIFA20 onwards is where they introduced the 1v1 defending crap. I'm on a forum called Evoweb and everyone on that site is literally now going retro for their footy fix. I wish I had a gaming PC as people have managed to update the older games to current day squads and also add Leagues and stuff. One mod, adds about 50 leagues to the game, it's madness but I've only got a laptop which isn't built to handle that sort of thing.
