villa89
The sad thing is when a manager is sacked next season people like paul merson will be calling for Steve bruce to come in as a safe pair of hands.
TheStagMan
So, I haven't been following West Brom's season - but as I understand it they were 6th when he took over so, the promotion specialist must have got them promoted then. I shall look forward to us playing them next year. Oh, they weren't promoted? I guess he must have had an unlucky loss in the play-offs then? What do you mean, 10th? How did that happen? He is a safe pair of hands and a promotion specialist. 4 times he has done it, 4! Count the promotions.... 4!!! Must be the player's fault. Perhaps he is just a shit manager then. They had won four games out of the last 54 or something. When we won away at Reading, you would have thought we’d won the European Cup, the fans hadn’t seen an away win in so long. First season we kept them up, second season we lost in the play-off final to Fulham. We didn’t play at all well. Kevin Friend, who is retiring this summer, saw Ryan Fredericks stamp on Jack Grealish after 20 minutes and it should have had a red card. We would have won and it was a huge disappointment. Then, again, there was another takeover, which the club badly needed. But the biggest thing I did that summer was fight tooth and nail to keep Grealish because they wanted to sell him and Spurs were there with £10million. They got £100m for him last summer! Great new owners there, even though they sacked me. how do i not remember that kevin friend ref'd the first playoff final...

Which the club needed badly as I steadied the ship by spending 15m on Hogan and having Lansbury on 40k a week Terry on 60k a week Snoddy on 65k a week and 2m loan fee and Bolasie on 80k a week. **** off you self serving narcissistic rocket polisher. Popular Post Mark Albrighton Posted July 29, 2022 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted July 29, 2022 “First season we kept them up” Let me take you back. It was October 2016, Little Mix were on the radio with “Shout out to my ex”, Jack Reacher returned to our screens vowing never to go back. And a suave, sophisticated promotion specialist walked through the door at Villa Park. From the outset, saving us from certain relegation to League One was the only thing crossing his mind as he made perfectly clear at the time - Quote "When you look at the squad we are capable of mounting a challenge and that can be this year too," he said. "We’re capable of being a very good team. "I realise we have to turn this around and I’m quietly confident with the group of players I’ve seen on paper. "They’ve been a little bit unfortunate but certainly the qualities are there and it’s my job to go and get the best out of them." Bruce, of course, has a history of succeeding in the Championship. On four occasions has he been able to lead a side to promotion to the Premier League which, and with the introduction of the new TV rights deal, this feat will see teams incur an even bigger monetary windfall. "When I went to Birmingham we were 15th at Christmas and went on a run that got us promoted... I hope I can bring that success here, now, that’s what this club needs. We need to get back in the big league and the challenge of that alone was the resounding factor of why I came here." There’s always a link Do you see? He clearly has no previous history of steering a struggling side to chasing promotion that he can reference and he obviously didn’t rate the Villa squad he inherited. The final league position of 13th in the Championship will go down as one of football’s, no, sport’s greatest accomplishments. No one could come in at a similar point in the season and guide a struggling Villa side to promotion. It’s foolish to think it could ever happen.
