Coasting in the first with very little pressure until Johnstone dropped the ball. Only one team in it second half until Jack got himself sent off. Two very good saves from the Forest keeper kept them in the game. Bruce tried to get to a 441 with fresh legs and was correct move for me. We might have got a point if Chester had been in the right position and not just look at the scorer but marked him. Tactics were fine but players weren't. Saying that, we can't go on getting results like this. Coasting? Clearly it is an instruction, everyone behind the ball. No pressing. Sit deep. If we wanted we had the players to go out there and pass and press that jokeshow off the pitch...but we didn't...because Bruce set us up that way.

Appoint another manager that brings in his own players and the same shit happens? Yes until we get it right. What's the point of keeping him hoping it will improve when it won't? We have not played well even when we we won a few games. Brighton and first half of Preston were our only good performances. Under RDM we were playing well without results. Now we're playing woeful without them. He's signed good players and is not utilising them correctly. Playing negatively against such a poor side is unbelievable.
Reivax_Villa
One of the causes to our instability is the the high demands and pressure fans put on the players and manager. If we have learnt one thing it should be patience

KJT123
Don't know where we go from here. We have a promotion specialist manager who has no clue as to what is his best team and how to set them up, after spending so much money. Makes you wonder if, not when, we'll start heading in the right direction. Edited February 4, 2017 by KJT123

He started well but I think anyone could have improved on RDM. I'd argue the point that we have a place in the championship next season to play for. No joke.

poitier
Today probably wasn't our worst performance by some way, but it has annoyed me more than any of the others. Spending like champions then playing with the mindset of minnows is just an utter embarrassment. Not even getting a result from it is the icing on the cake, but it is the negative play that really irks me. We should be able to go there and steamroller them. Never mind this 'we can't just go there and think we are going to win because we are Aston Villa', we should have a big bollocks attitude because we have the big bollocks in this division. I was happy enough when we got Bruce, and I'm not in favour of changing managers on a regular basis, but I'm starting to doubt that he has what we need now that we have assembled a decent enough squad to not have to be afraid of teams like Forest and the rest. If he hasn't turned us around in terms of performances and attitude in the next ten games then I would pull the trigger and give someone else time to get this team to the level they should be at next season.

Popular Post dont_do_it_doug.
Forget the decision making process behind it, or the this and that and is it a good idea or not, if I woke up tomorrow to find he had been sacked I'd be pleased. Aston Villa are bigger than one man. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm happy to watch us go through 10,000 managers if it means we get back to where we belong. 'Stability' is overrated when that stability consists of being embarrassing every week.

sonic_bouma
Bruce does seem to be throwing any players or formations on the pitch and seeing what sticks. At the moment **** all. He needs to find continuity and quick
