Brumerican
Favourites with the bookies yet again despite showing nothing that would deserve that . Preston are at home and have the same points . How the hell are we favourites ? Same as Barnsley and they had more points than us .

Will it work? Hell knows, but at least there's a logic behind it. It's probably floored logic otherwise i'd be managing in the premier league instead of being sat behind an office desk, writing a tactical proposal for someone who'll never read it, but hey ho... Starting XI ---------------------- Gollini ---------------------- Chester --- Elphick --- Jedinak --- Amavi Adomah --- Tshibola --- Lyden --- Grealish ---------------------- Ayew ------------------------ --------------------- Kodjia ------------------------- The plan 1. Let's go all Pep Guardiola trendy style and convert Jedi into a centre back, play out from the back. 2. Drop Westwood - just so that if we do lose/draw we don't have 12 pages on here moaning about him. 3. Stick Lyden in the middle with Tish, because aside from those already mentioned the only other option is Gardner... nuff said. 4. Tell Adomah and Jack to hug the touch lines and create width 5. Give Ayew a free role 6. Tell Kodjia to play on the shoulder of the last defender Subs: If losing: Revert to 3 at the back and tell Tish and Lyden to hold, Adomah and Amavi to put crosses in for the big man, McCormack and Ayew to feed off the knock downs. ---------------------- Gollini ---------------------- -------Chester --- Elphick --- Baker -------- Adomah --- Tshibola --- Lyden --- Amavi ----- McCormack ------------ Ayew ----------- --------------------- Gestede---------------------- If winning: Flood the midfield. Cissokho on to sure up the left, Baker on for height to cope with the inevitable barrage of balls into the box. Gestede on to hold the ball up. ---------------------- Gollini ---------------------- Chester --- Elphick --- Baker --- Cissokho ---------------------- Jedinak--------------------- Adomah --- Tshibola --- Lyden --- Grealish ---------------------- Gestede --------------------- DO IT!!!! You have posted 3 team line ups, none of which I like. Have you been reading RDM's ``Big Book of Team Lineups''?

Have you been reading RDM's ``Big Book of Team Lineups''? Haha!!! I know, on reflection I like non of them either! I have to be honest though, every time I make a Villa line up out of the current squad I find myself with 3 clear problems: 1. Shoehorning our best players into positions they're just not suited to, because they're all forwards. 2. Not knowing who the hell to play next to Tshibola because they're all crap. 3. Worrying that our central defensive pairing of Sam and Frodo can't cope without more defensive minded fullbacks.

Unlike you and I, RDM is being paid well for his expertise in this area, and it would appear that he does not know either.

It's Your Round
Does anyone seriously think that Elphick could be dropped for this one? Id like to think just because he's captain that he's not indespensible. I'd also like to see how Baker and Chester do together. Elphick is a likeable character but the amount of times he F&£ks about with the ball, seemingly unable to pick out a pass and then passing to Gollini, who passes it back, so he passes it back again. Three or four times until the opposition have closed us down and forced an error, is bloody annoying. With so many games in succession, surely he could sit out for one or two.
AntrimBlack
Why are so many posters going for 2 midfielders. That has been largely responsible for our poor results.

wilko154
Play 3 in the midfield and we have a chance of winning. Play 2 in the midfield and we will eventually get overrun and concede once we are in front

That has been largely responsible for our poor results. It's a dilemma. On the one hand we could use 3 in the middle. On the other hand, however, Westwood, Jedinak and Gardner have all been cack so it's tough to play 2 of those at the expense of a Grealish/McCormack. NottingVilla
You want your better players on the pitch the 4-2-4 was working well in the sense we were battering teams but just not winning. When we changed it we became crap deserving to lose or draw as opposed to deserving to win. -----------------Gollini------------------ Richards---Elphick---Chester---Amavi ---------Jedinak--Tshibola------ --- Adoma----McScore------Ayew ---------------Kodjia------- I put Richards in instead of Hutton purely to prevent seeing Hutton's crosses. Also Amavi instead of Cissokho for the same reason, even though I think Amavi is pretty shit. Use Jack off the Bench if they have parked the bus and we need a little creativity. Lets hammer these MUGS and tell ourselves once we have a 1-0 lead we are NOT required to sit back and shiit ourselves for the rest of the match.
Rodders
gollini hutton elphick baker cissokho jedinak tishbola westwood adomah mccormack ayew kodja on the bench. we have to drop one of them. I think ross is an asset we can't drop and ayew is creating plenty too. Have three solid in midfield, I'd like Baker at centre half, ideally and Aly at left back this time.
