Whether or not a team is attacking or not depends on how they're set up, not how many "attacking players" are on the pitch. Fab
Excited for this. Amavi and Bacuna as wingbacks could make problems for their defense.
rubberman
From all out attack to all out defence...baby and bathwater, Roberto. I know it can be attacking but doesn't feel like it with defenders as the wide men.
KHV
3-5-2 formation then No Tshibola again then, hmmmm. I am assuming Gestede is injured also?
westholmevillan
Best away formation so far this season IMO
abdomlahor
think it'll be a 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2 with Amavi on the left of midfield and Baker at left back. Amavi played there the other day so it seems like RDM likes him there, at least for the time being. Gollini Bacuna Elphick Chester Baker Grealish Westwood Jedinak Amavi Kodjia Ayew Could also be Ayew RM with Grealish beind Kodjia. I imagine it'll be fluid, as usual. Daweii
Seems solid.. Three at the back.. Bacuna/Amavi as wing-backs.. We're defensively sound or should be this time. It's all on whether Bacuna and Amavi can get some decent crosses in as if we have to keep playing through the middle as we have been recently we won't get much done.. LoughboroughLion
Like that. Shame Gestede not on the bench, him and Adomah coming on would be a good plan B.
sexbelowsound
I'd imagine based upon where Amavi features in the list it is 5 at the back. If he was playing further forward he'd be nearer the bottom of the list.
DCJonah
I do like the front 3. We should be able to score. Kozak though!! **** kozak.

It might work so I'm not writing it off but I don't have a lot of faith in those two currently supplying our attacking width. I hope our focus is through the middle with grealish being a key man for us.
Brumerican
I think Kodjia is better in the air than Rudy anyway.
LoughboroughLion
Doesn't strike me as too defensive. The whole point of a wing back is that they are supposed to attack more than a traditional RB and LB - thus making the team more attacking
It's Your Round
More than happy with the formation. Bacuna and Amavi pushing on as wing backs, solid 3 in defence and not top heavy on strikers. Worrying that Tish is still nowhere to be seen though. Hopefully we see Adomah at some point. westholmevillan
perfect away formation for me albeit without De Laet. Not sure we could have picked a better starting 11 from those that are fit. Comfortable Villa win!
