OutByEaster? Posted September 3 Moderator Share Posted September 3 It's a shame it's international week, it means there isn't another game to distract them from the none stop grizzling about the sending off - days and days and days of it on social media and it'll last at least another week. Ah well, perhaps Saka will get injured for England to break it up a bit. We can but hope.
oishiiniku_uk
The longer Arsenal go without winning a major trophy, the more hysterical and entitled their fans become. I think Arteta's tapped into this growing sense of injustice within the fanbase and tries to channel it into his team in order to get some kind of marginal gain, but so far it's seemed to have the opposite effect and caused them all to get overly emotional both positively and negatively depending on whether they win a game or not. I really hope they don't win the league with Arteta because for me he's the most dislikeable manager by a distance (and that's saying something).
TheMightyVillans
the injuries already piling up for arsenal and their squad was already weaker than last season imo. 3 tough away games coming up for them aswell. We need to take advantage.

BleedClaretAndBlue
No Rice or Odegaard is huge for Spurs. Think they’ll win that now.
villa89
It will be hilarious if they lose these games coming up and are out of the title race by the end of September. Lego David Brent won't be able to moan his way out of that.

VillaAlex
Odegaard is their metronome, and imo their best player. They will drop a lot more points without him playing. Massive blow for them.

Well we're more likely to be fighting for 4th place with Spurs than Arsenal so this isn't particularly good news for us.

Massive blow for them. Absolutely. He's their Rodri. Obviously still a good team without him, but they become a top 4 good team, instead of the second best team in the league. Take Rice away as well and they're distinctly average, so the next game will be a big struggle for them. Beyond that, they'll be missing Merino and possibly Odegaard for a while so they're going to have to over perform to keep their dream alive. I think they'll play more of a counter-attacking game (which they did last season at Spurs' stadium to good effect) and they have the players to be ruthless on the break. Look at Newcastle vs Tottenham the other week - waited for the opportunities to counter and took advantage when they came along.
