I haven't checked in on it since. No straws needed.

AVTuco Posted December 21, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted December 21, 2019 Tough choice for me, but I'm certain Dean will start Wes. He has stood behind Wes through the dry patch, he's not going to abandon Wes now that he finally managed to score.
villalad21
Isn't the savior but still did more in 30 minutes than Wesley has done in 10 games.
DCJonah
Don't think it would have made much difference but he should have started.

In the short time Kodija was on the pitch today, he was involved a lot and got plenty of touches. This game may have been a lot different if he was involved from the beginning. brummybloke
Defend from the front, kodja looks like a sprinter and 19 year old chasing defenders down compared to wes. Its what was part of the build up to our goal. He is no Ronaldo or even a chris sutton but he is Shearer messi and Ronaldo rolled into 1 compared to wes. Farlz
He was no different to Wesley
PaddytheVillan
He'd be a better wide option than Trezeguet. Play him on the other wing to AEG and bring Grealish central.
villalad21
It's hard not to think about what could have been if Smith got a fired and motivated Kodjia and made him our number 9 since the start of the season.

Junxs
Really don't get why so many don't like him, turned Southampton inside out at times and looked a threat every time he got the ball. El Ghazi and Trez were both rubbish today, if Smith doesn't want to drop Wesley then Kodjia has to play on the wing. Apart from Grealish he was our only threat.
sidcow Posted December 21, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted December 21, 2019 He looks pretty average to be honest which makes him 4 times the player of Wesley. Starts next week or Smith deserves pressure on his job.

nick76
Do not think he’s better than Wes but against Norwich I would tinker with the formation and play him and Wes as the front two
Dr_Pangloss
He's earned his start now, wasn't reading much into a couple of goals against an Under 19 side but he was better than Wesley today. However the reality is that he should have been getting starts sooner given Wesley's poor form. Edited December 21, 2019 by Dr_Pangloss
villalad21
Wesley will prolly still start against Norwich
VillaChris
Kodj started and scored v Norwich just six months ago. It will be a shambles if he dosen't start on Boxing day, even as a maverick wide option.
