Is he out for the whole season then, or is there a chance of a return for the play off final? Think it's unlikely he will be fit for pre season never mind the play offs - I'd be very happy if he is available come August .

Woah, he is proper crocked then. Maybe we'll see him in August/September then... all the more need to sort right back out, even a loan deal would be good. striker Posted January 14, 2017 Visiting Supporter Share Posted January 14, 2017 Considering the amount of time it has taken Amavi to get back up to speed (and some might say he hasn't got there yet) it could be even longer than suggested to see Laet back to his best. It is therefore imperative than Bruce signs a decent RB this window.

Buying yet another right back would be wasteful when we're bumping up against the FFP ceiling anyway. I think with Hutton being out of contract at the end of the season, we need another right back - at the moment, for next season we'll have De Laet who won't have played for a year and Bacuna (and Richards, but I'm happily pretending he doesn't exist.) whether we need one now or in the summer becomes the question. Grasshopper
catch 22 We use Hutton till may If we get promoted to PL we then have Bacuna at RB

Junxs
Don't worry, Hutton will probably have a new 4 year contract before the end of the season.
Villaphan04
can he play left back? He might be an option when he returns next season-- could be useful instead of signing a left back for cover (if we sell Amavi) Edited February 28, 2017 by Villaphan04

sidcow Posted May 13, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted May 13, 2017 I can't see us keeping him and Brie and Hutton. Surely at least one will be moved on?
VillaChris
De Laet has played a lot at LB hasn't he, can see him backing up Taylor next season.

theboyangel
De laet is very versatile and can play across the back four. He's worth keeping just for that reason. I'd ship out both elphick and Richards ahead of de laet.
Dr_Pangloss
I'd get rid of Hutton, have Bree starting and De Laet as back up.

Don't understand the big love in for hutton. He tries hard but is a average at best rb. He also seems to.play well when he is in his final year for us then when he gets a new deal his form drops

alreadyexists Posted June 8, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted June 8, 2017 He's working hard to get fit... I like him, hope he comes back strong and helps with our promotion bid. Although it looks like he's doing the robot.
