Theyve gone back on original ruling? Be interesting to see what happens there. By all accounts they will get a points deduction. FFP is bleak, they really need to revise the losses allowed at 2nd tier level. I’ve seen that their issue isn’t so much selling the fixed asset, more so that they overvalued it by £20m when doing so. useless
That's one win in nine now for Leeds, today they missed a penalty, had a man sent off, and conceded a goal to a double handball. Also Jack Clarke who they sold to Spurs in the summer and then loaned back but hardly used him, was recalled by Spurs this window, and made his debut for QPR today. A big chance for Forest to close the gap if they put some form together, eight points behind, but have two games in hand, and their next two are both at home against Reading and Luton. KentVillan
Just been to Loftus Road for QPR Leeds. Bamford dived for pen then missed it. Kalvin Phillips sent off for two footed lunge. Leeds lost 1-0. Hilarious. Leeds fans mouthing off about Bamford after the game. He missed a couple of decent-ish chances. Love to see it. Warburton has got QPR playing much much better than last year. Their attacking players all look useful - Eze a bit erratic, but he set the tone for the game beating 3 men early on to set up a good attack. VillaChris
Forest got Luton at home tomorrow and they've still got a spare game at home to Reading, not sure when that's played. They win both they'll be two points behind Leeds.

Zatman
Quote Missing Insoles And Nibbling Toes: The Story Of Derby County's Travails In The Championship Life in the Championship is not quite the proverbial rollercoaster, but it can lead to a strained sort of existence. The windfalls from sponsorship and broadcast deals aren't as lucrative as the more valued sibling in English football, the Premier League, and the race to get to the Promised Land, while keeping the head above water, often leads to a rather febrile atmosphere in England's second division. Every club has taken their own paths in recent seasons but, arguably, no club has provided their fans with the hurricane of emotions that Derby County has done since 2014. For those uninitiated with the world outside the pizzazz of the Premier League, the story of Derby County is in some way enlightening, though it must be reiterated that the club are perhaps an anomaly when it comes to being haphazard as an organisation. A number of unfortunate events in Pride Park have now led to a situation to increased levels of uncertainty, with the club facing the prospect of a points deduction after breaching financial rules. Thanks to a thread on the Twitter timeline of The Second Tier, a football podcast dedicated to coverage of the Championship, we can begin to imagine how fraught life as a Derby County fan must be. The story begins with the man who broke their hearts in 2014: Bobby Zamora, of course. Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier · Jan 17, 2020 Derby County could face a points deduction after they were charged with breaching financial rules. Let's take a look back at the rollercoaster that is Derby County Football Club, starting off with Bobby Zamora.#DCFC [THREAD] Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier So as you probably know, Derby were beaten in the 2014 Playoff final by a 91st minute goal by Bobby Zamora. It was QPR's only shot on target. 475 6:13 PM - Jan 17, 2020 Twitter Ads info and privacy 53 people are talking about this You couldn't make it up: the QPR striker scores in the 91st minute, with the side's only shot on target, and Derby's wait for a return to the Premier League continues. But they're not far away.; surely it's only a matter of time. So, the 2014-15 season arrives with the Rams flying high on budding optimism. Realising they need to bolster their squad ahead of a push to go one step further, the club entered the transfer market. Some of the signings had the look of very promising youngsters, and Raul Albentosa had been chased by a number of clubs. Unfortunately, life didn't get off to the best start in England. Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier · Jan 17, 2020 Replying to @TheSecondTier They also brought in Spanish defender Raul Albentosa. He was getting rave reviews for his performances for Eibar. He played 8 games before disappearing off the face of the earth. He also apparently had back problems because he left his orthotic insoles in Spain. Not joking. Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier Their transfer business wasn't all bad that season though! They brought in the likes of Jesse Lingard, Jack Butland, Jordan Ibe, Tom Ince, Stephen Warnock, Darren Bent and... er... Leon Best. But surely with some of those players, promotion is guranteed that season right? 136 6:17 PM - Jan 17, 2020 Twitter Ads info and privacy See Second Tier Podcast's other Tweets Fast-forward to Boxing Day in 2015: Paul Clement is manager and the club are top of the league. Things are finally beginning to look rosy for Derby. Finally! It didn't last long. Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier · Jan 17, 2020 Replying to @TheSecondTier He's replaced by Carlo Ancelotti's assistant Paul Clement. He's well backed by the club, who spend £21 million in the 2015 summer transfer window. That includes £10 million on the dynamic midfield pairing of Jacob Butterfield and Bradley Johnson. Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier On Boxing Day, Derby are top of the Championship and unbeaten in seven games. 7 games later Paul Clement is sacked. Derby chairman, Mel Morris, says the team weren't playing "the Derby way". 251 6:21 PM - Jan 17, 2020 Twitter Ads info and privacy 27 people are talking about this The club become regulars in the play-offs, a fair achievement, but without ever crossing the Rubicon. However, it was antics off the field, rather than an inadequacy in the play-offs, that was the source of much of the humiliation showered on the club. Of all the off-field antics, the events leading to Jacob Butterfield's arrest stands out as one of the most bizarre and ludicrous. Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier · Jan 17, 2020 Replying to @TheSecondTier Midfielder Jacob Butterfield's arrested at his own engagement party after a fight. It supposedly started after a friend nibbled on his fiancee's big toe. Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier New season, new manager. Nigel Pearson's the new man in charge. It's his first job since saving Leicester from relegation, prior to their title-winning season. The goal? Promotion. 112 6:30 PM - Jan 17, 2020 Twitter Ads info and privacy See Second Tier Podcast's other Tweets And while staff at the club clearly had an eye for talent, spending £2 million for a scout report on Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele was probably nonsensical considering this happened in 2018, when the pair were already playing for Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona respectively. Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier · Jan 17, 2020 Replying to @TheSecondTier Oh by the way I completely forgot! Back in March 2018 sacked chief executive and Stone Cold Steve Austin impersonator Sam Rush. It’s all a bit technical but in summary he was accused of: - Paying Tom Ince’s mum £700k - Paying Paul Ince to be an adviser - Overpaying agents Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier He also allegedly paid £2 million for a scout report which recommended Derby sign Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele. Not bad shouts tbf. 719 7:14 PM - Jan 17, 2020 Twitter Ads info and privacy 65 people are talking about this Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier · Jan 17, 2020 Replying to @TheSecondTier In January, £10 million record signing Krystian Bielik is ruled out for the season with an ACL injury. It’s the 10th ACL injury the club’s had in 6 years. Second Tier Podcast@TheSecondTier And finally we get to now... The club potentially on the verge of a points deduction. Hardly surprising considering the club has spunked at least £60 million on transfer fees alone in the last 6 seasons. useless
If Fulham and Forest win tonight they will be just one and two points behind Leeds respectively, there will only be three points seperating the top four teams, even now there's only six points seperating the whole top six which is nothing really in the championship, even Swansea in seventh place will still feel they have a chance of top two. At one stage in December Leeds were thirteen points clear of the team in third place, which shows how quickly it can change.
abdulaziz1
I find us going out of the Championship was unbelievable regarding our form. In three years, we've only been in top 2 for two weeks. After our 7 wins run (and Cardiff had a game in hand I think). Then the first week of last season when we've beaten Hull, by GD. So twice as 2nd. Not sure how many weeks as 3rd. It would be interesting to know our average league position down there! I'm glad we went up. Otherwise look at whats happening to Leeds and Albion, especially when you consider the run Leeds had last season.
