Zatman
so if McCormack rumours are true, that would be 2 of our summer signings already gone on loan after 6 months
Grasshopper
Unless you are ManU/C Chelski Ars* Spuds or Plop I dont think you can realistically employ 3 Gk's and the first 11 doubled up (25 in total) as 1st teamers. We at Villa should be looking at something along these lines 1-3 GK bench-keeper & Youth player 4 RB 5 LB 6-8 CB 2 capable of playing LCM 9-10 2RW 1 capable of doubling as RB/WB 11-12 2LB 1 capable....... 13-14 DM 15-17 CM 18-19 AM 20-22 CF Loads of work in the summer I make that 3 Steer 4 Bree(if bought)/RDL (when fit) 5 Amavi (if he stays) 6-7 Chester (if he stays) & Baker 9 Adomah 15-16 Lansbury & Hourihane 18-19 Grealish & Ayew (if he stays) 20 Kodjia (if he stays) a total of 12 (maybe) 10 to go or SJ if proven - I hope he comes good so we can buy him Elphick - not good enough Bacuna Westwood Jedi Gardner only 1 at a time please McC - Sell if all true Gaby - No, just no Anything from the Youth/U23 should be a bonus/blooding for seasons to come. We need to be 1st or 2nd next season - no playoff lottery nerve breaking shit.

theboyangel
I have no idea to be honest kurtsimonw, Lansbury seemed more than capable being part of a midfield two though against Preston. Don't know how Barnsley have utilised hourihane, although I get the impression he is also a traditional cm. Adomah is a grafter and gets back to help out and from what I recall of the Euros, bjarnesson also works hard.

wilko154
Is Bjarnason not classed as a center midfielder? Personally would go with the below: Johnstone Bree - Chester - Baker - Amavi Lansbury - Hourihane - Bjarnason Adomah - Kodjia - Green Subs: Bunn, Elphick, Hutton, Bacuna, Tshibola, Grealish, Ayew

Transfermarkt has him playing left and right every game this season, given the frequency in which he seems to be on one side or the other, he must be very comfortable on both sides? Somewhat interesting that in away games he seems to be on the left all the time, home games on the right. thunderball
I very much hope that Bruce wants to play a high intensity, high energy style with overlapping fullbacks with wide midfielders. The energy and goal threat that our new midfielders should bring will transform our play where we should start dominating the middle of the park and possession. If it's a five man midfield with Kodjia up top in his own it will be interesting. I think Gabby was only brought back into the fold as cover for AFCoN so I expect him to fade away now. I still think we will sign Rhodes as back up to Kodjia.
