Makes the FA look foolish doesn't it? He'd have been ideal for us but I bet the FA didn't even open the conversation. These losers are an embarrassment to the nation.

Maybe Poch didn't want such a high pressure job? The US job is cozy and if he gets them out of the group he'd have done OK. England probably expect to win it however realistic that might be.

Or maybe that Argentinian rejected the job...

Maybe we did put the feelers out and he said no

Taking his nationality away from the conversation Poch is the antithesis of what the FA look for in a manager. He's not a yes man that will toe the company line, and he's likely to comment if he's not happy with something, either behind the scenes or on the pitch. They would never have considered him.

There's no pressure on the USA job on the eve of a home world cup? I don't think so.

England should be expecting to at least challenge for it but tbh regardless of how good you are winning something always comes with an element of good fortune about it. The remit should be to get the most out of the players playing a more attractive and expansive brand of football. He was the outstanding candidate not already in a job for that task - except maybe Klopp, who'd already said he didn't want it.

Regardless of his nationality, he's lived in the UK for years, learned the language and the culture. He's never once expressed any disdain for Britain and it's people.

Compared to the England job the US job is far less pressure and scrutiny. Not comparable at all. Didn't say there was no pressure.

Poch stock isn't as high as 3-4 years ago. Also an Argie managing England would've been awkward especially with a meeting at next World Cup so can understand them not approaching him.

The US media have a weird view they will challenge and that they have a Golden Generation. Some even consider Pulisic elite 😂

It's honestly less pressure than any other participant, even as hosts. The general public and casual observers won't know anything about him and won't care. They wouldn't be able to determine if he's doing a good job if they wanted to. The Americans who will be scrutinizing everything Poch says and does is an extremely niche group of people.

Exactly this. Then as soon as any negative comments come out, or results aren’t going well, our stupid tabloid media will cite his nationality as the problem.

He’s worked in England, he’ll know how it works, and I can’t blame him if he wouldn’t want any part in it. (If it was even ever a choice).

Fair play to the defender, he took it relatively well if you compare it to the way Brereton Diaz rolled around from Schar's "headbutt"

Mason Greenwood considering changing from England to Jamaica. That's the kind of human you'd want in your team right.
