markavfc40
Great to see the passion he has for the club. Let's hope he maintains it and like the rest of us it will be a life long love affair. Also great to see Ian Taylor and Brian Little in that video celebrating the goals. sidcow Posted November 28, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted November 28, 2016 I like the Chinese girls behind Taylor celebrating. Don't know who they are but they are well into it going nuts. Great to see Sir Ian Taylor close to Xia. I am sure he will hear a lot of home truths from him. A yes man Tayls is not.
AJ
Sorry for sounding inept, but where can I find the details for winning a seat in his box? I understand it would be a 'local' competition, but I have 6 weeks leave coming up, and it would be awesome if Tony flew me half a planet over to watch Villa with him. Not going to happen, but still, it would be awesome.

mikeyp102
Just read the interview with Steve Round thread. Think that shows how good an owner Xia could be. He has brought someone in with expertise and then has backed this persons ideas without interfering Edited November 29, 2016 by mikeyp102
Popular Post ender4
Quote Sitting with Xia: My day with Aston Villa owner Tony Lynette Moore is the envy of the Villa Park faithful during the win over Cardiff Lynette Moore was among the lucky winners in Aston Villa's novel #SittingwithXia competition for the victory over Cardiff City. Lynette and her husband Antony got to enjoy Trinity Road hospitality as guests of Tony Xia for the 3-1 Championship win at Villa Park. Here the Holte End L7 season ticket holder runs us through her day with the Dr. ON ENTERING THE COMPETITION I saw on Twitter that a lot of people were entering the competition so I decided to give it a go, never thinking that I was going to win. I sent a photo of myself with Dalian Atkinson from way back in the early 90s and I'm still upset about what happened to Dalian. I included the hashtag sitting with Xia and the next thing I knew I'd got a direct message from Villa saying I'd won. ON DREADING GOING BACK ON THE HOLTE END! The hospitality was wonderful. We had salmon fishcakes for starters, a nice Italian chicken breast for main and a cheesecake desert to die for. They were constantly bringing us drinks and we had refreshments at half time and chocolates. I'm dreading going back to the Holte End for the next match against Wigan as I could get used to that kind of luxury, with the comfy seats and the chance to get warm at half-time! It was a brilliant experience and we're so grateful to Tony and the club. ON TONY TAKING TIME He came in at about 2.15pm and he stayed with us for about 20 minutes, half an hour. We thought he might just pop his head around the door to show his face but he was brilliant, really brilliant. He sat down and chatted with us and was so relaxed that it was like talking to an old friend. It was all a bit surreal to be honest, but Tony Xia and his personal assistant couldn't have been nicer. His executive box is next to the one we were in so he popped back in at half time and again at the end. We know he had a busy schedule and had a lot of presentations to go to so we really appreciated how much attention he gave us. He let us have as many photos as we wanted. He was brilliant. WHAT TONY TALKED ABOUT He had a good chat with us and all of the competition winners. He was talking to us about how busy he was with his business interests and how he was feeling a bit jet-lagged. We were asking him about how much money Villa would spend in the next transfer window and things like that. After the match we were all buzzing about how well Jack Grealish had played and he agreed and said what a good player he was. ON TONY'S TWITTER ACCOUNT He's been a breath of fresh air since he came into the club to be honest. I am always watching his Twitter feed for his updates as they make me smile. I loved the one he tweeted in response to Danny Murphy's comments when he said the only Murphys he'd heard of were Eddie Murphy and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy. ON THE POSITIVE VIBES AT VILLA It was a perfect day really with Villa winning and continuing the good home form. There were some great performances and I'm normally all about Jonathan Kodjia who was brilliant again, but Grealish was really good as well. I have been impressed with Xia since he came into the club and meeting him has convinced me we are in safe hands with him and Steve Bruce. Of all the things he said to us it was when he said 'I just want to make Villa great again' that really hit home the most. He has such a passionate for this club and I'm delighted he is here. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sitting-xia-day-aston-villa-12240681

If we do things might actually get pretty exiting. http://www.bbc.com/news/business-38020900 Interesting read. Don't think this deal has been completed, but if it goes through, it may damage the popularity of Premier League in China (in terms of TV/internet broadcasting) as PPTV runs a very badly-received pay-to-watch type of membership. Hopefully CCTV (which is like BBC in UK) still gets 1 game per match day so it is basically free to watch. Interestingly, PPTV is owned by Suning (as pointed out in the article), who has spent billions of euros recently in football (including completing the ownership transfer of Inter Milan). Suning has a real ambition in European football due to need of market extension. There was rumour that Suning will also come to English football - but that may not happen in near future.
villa4europe
To me logically if you were going to buy an English football club you'd do it before you did a tv deal that would raise the value of that club

It was yep. I guess it's the personal touch that he's referencing. Randy was a recluse, which is his choice of course. Tony is, to my mind, unlike any other owner I know of in football when it comes to interaction with the supporter base. I think it's wonderful.
