Either cut your wage to play for another team or get paid in full but only watch (i.e. you're not going to play here).

I take from it, that either Joe or Sheffield Wednesday wanted us to pay part of his wages. So he's saying that Joe needs to take a pay cut or get fully paid by the club that want him.
Guest
Ah, I didn't see what the tweet was in relation to. Should have probably checked that first >_> Makes sense now.

Hoof hearted
I wuv Tony wots and wots He reminds me of that mad mate who was the one that climbed the unclimbable tree to get the rope swing going (that was our Twitter before you spoiled kids invented the Internet FYI)! mikeyjavfc Posted August 25, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) Interesting. He seems to have changed his tune from his Lescott tweet the other week: Wonder if he got to breaking point with paying others wages due to the breakdown of that deal! Lescott wasn't going to a team challenging us for promotion. I think that's a key part.

Bennet's wage's are nowhere near the levels of Lescott's I'd imagine. Subsidising Lescott effing off should be a different case to Bennet IMO. Richards is ther with Lescott and Gabby too, anything for them to go now is acceptabe, including cancelling of contracts....

Lescott is seen as a bad influence I think. Little market value, little use on the pitch and is one of 3-4 we are desperate to get rid of. I think it is different with Joe - younger, could develop, and (importantly) was been sold to a direct rival in the Championship.
Demitri_C
Still dont understand why he blocked bennetts move, just seems a bit silly. bennett would be difference from promotion or staying in the championship

Ponky
The issue is also us giving Wednesday a financial leg up to sign one of our players, who could then be used against us.
Popular Post Villarocker
I am really enjoying the way Dr Tony goes about his business. Imagine one of us lot being in his position of owning our football club and doing the business he's doing for his cub and us fans. You would go to meetings and have talks with people thinking "I want to get the best deal possible and get the player in/out but, at the same time, I won't be f**ked over my someone from another club, especially those who are our main rivals - we are Aston F**king Villa!". Imagine dealing with our players that have bad attitudes - "this tw*t let our fans down badly and he wants me to contribute towards his huge wage whilst he plays elsewhere. He can go f**k himself". Every time I read one of his tweets on here I think to myself that this guy is really going about his business in the same way that I would if I owned the Villa. Perfect example; going for breakfast and waiting for a call to confirm that a player I have signed is about to be put on the club's website. Thought? "I know, I'll have my mate here take a picture of me and then put it on twitter together with a message letting the fans know that another signing is about to be announced, so that my Villa-supporting followers can have an exciting start to their day" - that's something I would do if I was owner! Well done Dr Tony for bringing enjoyment to us all this summer
pas5898
I love Tony more and more each day!! I love how brutal and straight-forward he is. Why should we pay Sheff Weds, a rival money to tale our player? We could easily sell him and save 10-20k a week.
