I'm just gonna trust in Xia and hope we don't crash and burn. Not much else to do at this point. I think Xia has all the right intentions and the intelligence to see it through, I just hope that Villa achieve great success. Samuelson makes me nervous but at the same time this club may do well with someone that isn't as clean cut, we've been beyond honourable for decades and it gets us nowhere. He would actually be good for us. Samuelson's speciality is transferring money through FFP loopholes, which would be why Xia wants him on board.

Kuwabatake Sanjuro
The more I read about Wyness the more worried I become. Initially I thought he would make a great CEO but neither Everton nor Aberdeen fans have much positive to say about him.
AlwaysAVFC
They've been mentioned but it's only just clicked. 'The Pheonix group' hedgefund that Samuelson was fronting to try and get Reading and then Bristol Rovers. They were also linked to us last year as well weren't they? Deisler123
Guys, got a question - what is the current main sponsorship Villa has? Any casino related business? If so, how many years of sponsorship contract left?

Not sure how long for though.

It is a big no no for a Chinese-owned business. Edited May 22, 2016 by Deisler123
Kuwabatake Sanjuro
It was one of the good things Tom Fox did in not going for gambling money.

Qwpzxjor1
Everything being said about this Samuelson guy, the only positives have been along the lines of 'he's a money man, he'll do his job and go'. Bring chairman is a totally different thing. Not sure I like the sound of this.

Or is it a Communist Party thing to try and break that?

And I am a Chinese. Gambling is ILLEGAL by law in China. That is why you got that impression, because the only place Chinese can gamble is, in fact, in overseas countries. I am sorry. But what is your point? If a party (communist or not) bans the gambling, I would love that party. Yeah, yeah, i know cold-war thinking man, you like to disagree on everything that is linked to China. Just out of curiosity, did Communism China hurt you sometime in your life before? Knowing that will help me understand why you always have a problem with China, seriously. Certainly on the pitch there was no issue, they reguarly finished top 6 when he was there and Moyes didn't seem to have an issue working under him. Phumfeinz
I think it's safe to say our next sponsor won't be of the gambling sort then if it's illegal in China. I imagine it'll be Recon or Lotus Health Group if he does go ahead with renaming the stadium to Lotus Villa Park.

It is like, if an English businessman owns a club in Amsterdam, and wants to have a sponsorship of a drug making industry (assume if he can). Think about what British government and people will think.... If he wants to deal with the limit imposed by FFP, then it is very likely to have sponsorship from related company. Maybe not in the first season (or before returning back to PL) though.
