Well thats Johnson, his staff, a lack of social distancing and a wine 'n' cheese in the Downing Street garden, May 2020 Tbh, it's probably quite safe but it's something the rest of us mere mortals were told we couldn't do... Obviously this isn't enough evidence of anything Photo from the Guardian Is that about the time police were arresting people for meeting with friends on their front garden?

sidcow Posted December 21, 2021 VT Supporter Share Posted December 21, 2021 Wait a minute https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-trade-deal-australia-agriculture-b1980000.html Brexit: Australia deal will cause £94m blow to UK farming, fishing and forestry, government admits Quote Boris Johnson’s post-Brexit trade deal with Australia will damage the UK’s agriculture and food sectors by hundreds of millions of pounds, according to the government’s own impact assessment. British farming, forestry and fishing will suffer a £94m hit from the free trade agreement, a Department for International Trade (DIT) document has revealed. The government also expects a £225m hit to the semi-processed food sector, conceding that it was another area expected to “contract” as a result of increased competition. Quote “This impact assessment proves what so many feared – buried in the small print is a £100m hit to our farming and fishing sectors that will hit rural communities hardest,” said the Lib Dems’ environment spokesperson Tim Farron. Enda
The £10bn figure is the increase in trade (both ways) forecast after ten years of the agreement being in place, with roughly £5bn going each way. They sort of cancel out. Specifically, by 2035 the deal is forecast to increase British GDP by 0.08%. So less than 0.1%, after more than ten years. #globalbritain

I watched a farmer rounding up sheep with a small aeroplane, which was some seriously skilful flying, and was surprised too see a cow wandering about deep in the outback so at least it’s free (rocket) range. blandy Posted December 23, 2021 Author Moderator Share Posted December 23, 2021 Quote Britain’s trade with the EU has declined since the country quit the bloc, with firms hit by new customs paperwork and checks. As of October, U.K. goods trade with the EU was 15.7% lower than it would have been had Britain stayed in the EU’s single market and customs union, according to modeling by the Centre for European Reform, an independent think-tank. That tallies with a U.K. government analysis of 2018, which predicted a 10% decline in trade. But the figures may be flattered by the fact the U.K. has delayed implementing many of its post-Brexit border controls until 2022. From January, imports from the EU will need to be immediately accompanied by a customs declaration, and food products will face extra physical inspections from the summer. Genie
The Independent Quote British disability blue badges are no longer being recognised in major holiday destinations across Europe thanks to Brexit, the government has admitted. Automatic recognition for Britain’s 2.4 million blue badge holders – a perk of EU membership – stopped across Europe on 31 December 2020 when the EU transition period ended. villa4europe
Today I managed to buy a beef and tomato pot noodle and a packet of pixkled onion monster munch for £1.67!!! To be fair that was a special offer cos the import shop here has gone out of business cos brexit has killed his stock, he can't get meat or cheese or various other things anymore Also to be fair I never really liked the place anyway, Im too tuned in to British prices to fall for it, even the monster munch I bought today that were €1 were somehow reduced from €3 despite the big "£1" sticker in the corner, I'm too savy to pay €4 for a bar of cadburys... But still, his business is dead, brexit killed him
