Popular Post Artetasgirl Posted March 1, 2016 Visiting Supporter Popular Post Share Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) Just on my way back from the match now. I have to say, it was noticeable, people streaming out when the clock hit 74. Particular in the North stand to our right and the upper Holte End. Pleased that our fans supported you too, lots of clapping for your chants and quite a few even joined in. I heard a lot of empathy around me too, we know it quite easily could have been us in your position. There's a lot of respect between the two clubs, and as I said, because we are so similar. I can't wait til you are back up fighting with us again. Respect to all of you who took part, I only hope the movement grows. You deserve so much better. Popular Post markavfc40
I thought it was a great success. Standing outside the ground on Trinity Road I'd estimate around 5k left given the amount of fans streaming out past us. This has really been just over a week in the making and was therefore a remarkable achievement and was better supported than most protests I can remember over the last 30 odd years. We need to build on this though. It was noticeable tonight the amount of fans singing for Lerner out. I have never seen it on anything like that level before. Fox also got plenty of anti chanting. There is certainly an appetite amongst supporters now for change at the top. On a personal note that is the first time I have ever left a game in 28 years as a ST holder. Felt weird but felt right given what it is we are hoping to achieve. Edited March 1, 2016 by markavfc40
screwdriver
I protested tactically. I got up and left on 74 but came back to a different seat with a better veiw after the hordes had dispersed just in time to see us score
dont_do_it_doug.
Take a look at @Jamorushton's Tweet: https://twitter.com/Jamorushton/status/704778430294966273?s=09 Ultimately, whether it was hundreds, thousands, it doesn't matter at this stage. The point is that this action along with the terrific vocal onslaught has had an impact. What we choose to do with that is up to us, as a combined force.

Yes he looked realky uncomfortable and abit terrified to be honest. I dont think he will be at the club come summer. As he is do hated now and we hold him just as responsible as Lerner
tonyh29
Abuse aimed at Lerner , Fox , Hollis ? you can count me out Fwiw I didn't go to the game today that's my protest (my mate had to drive up from Surrey on his own and is still moaning at me !! ) .The money I'd have spent on a ticket is peanuts in the scheme of things but I'm not really a fan of giving someone money in order for me to protest , different of course for season ticket holders amongst you
ferguson1
First time I have ever left a Villa game before the end and in all honestly felt pleased that I did! Even missing a bloody goal. A good number seemed to leave for what I could see. Fantastic achievement from all those involved and to think that this was only an idea week or so ago - well done guys!! Brumerican
I only bought a ticket tonight so I could leave on 74. Some of the fans around me made me feel like I had crossed a picket line and that surprised me though . I could have just needed a shit for all they knew . briny_ear
Well done to all those who organised and delivered OTDO74. It's been mentioned a lot in the media and there is a sense of momentum now so I think it will be bigger at the Chelsea game.

Didiersix
Congratulations to all involved at setting this thing up. Amazing how far you've come in such a short space of time. The key thing now is that you've got momentum.. and the attention is firmly on those who have mismanaged our great club. This may achieve everything, this may achieve nothing but at least you will be able to say you didn't stand idly by when our club was sent on the road to ruin.
Popular Post ChrisVillan
It would have been better if you'd shot Lerner into the sun. Why didn't you shoot Lerner into the sun? Do that next time. Don't ask me if I'll organise it, I'll ignore you. I'll be back in an hour to ask again.

Anything fans can do to create pressure on the club is worth trying IMO - more walkouts, more banners, more chants, more whatever. I hope more fans start to get on board now and make this a huge collective effort. I know it's hard for a lot of people, it goes against the grain to walk out early. But the more fans that join, the greater the pressure, the more we can all say we didn't stand idly by - we did everything in our power to help our club. Nigel Posted March 2, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted March 2, 2016 Must admit the dire football helped in my decision in walking.....my personal battle was staying up to the 74th minute! I was surprised that I was the only one on my row to leave, some seemed almost annoyed that they had to move out of the way at an odd time. Once out the back of the north you could see that it had caught and that seemed to cause more to leave. Must say fair play to the Everton fans, they were brilliant tonight. Clapping our protest songs and the walkout. A class set of fans.
