Popular Post Mark Albrighton Posted July 30 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted July 30 @Pongo Waring as far as I can see the first post from you on this awful incident involved you immediately playing a guessing game as to where the suspect is from. I see this post has now been deleted but remains where those have quoted you. You then proceeded to say “surprise surprise” when you posted that the suspect’s parents are from Rwanda. It also reads to me, and I dare say most people, that you actually misread the article and assumed the suspect himself was born in Rwanda. So to claim others are bothered about the individual’s birthplace is laughably hypocritical based on your initial posts. If people have expressed uneasy feelings about the suspect’s nationality and/or birthplace it’s rooted in their concern that people living in the country who might be identified as being equally “forrin” will be tarnished through no fault of their own by the appalling actions of this individual. So next time you claim not to be bothered about the offender’s nationality and your only concern is for the grieving families, do yourself and everyone a favour and lead with sincere condolences to the families and forget both the guessing game and the Cilla Black impression. Cheers.
Panto_Villan
I disagree with misinformation being spread about the killer too. But if that’s the only thing you’re interested in discussing about these events, you’re just as bad as the people spreading it imo.

foreveryoung
This forum has really got to stop with the point scoring. Its like having a argument at a family funeral. After what has happened, it really is in bad taste. Some of you guys on here, who think they are doing the right thing in defending religion, race, you're really not. Who actually cares at this time. There's 3 dead children, killed by a 17 year old kid!! Imagine if one was yours.

There's 3 dead children, killed by a 17 year old kid!! Imagine if one was yours. No one's defending religion and race. People are pointing out racist lies and the danger that goes with the desperate need from some to jump on a horrendous incident like this. Who cares at this time? Well when you've got people all other social media trying to stoke racial hatred, I'd imagine quite a lot of people care that these lies not be repeated and spread. It's a shame that it has to be pushed back on but then unfortunately we currently live in a climate where the racists use social media to do this.

Especially when the individual has already admitted to making a mistake. This is an emotional situation whereby many people have jumped on the hearsay of others on social media only to be proven wrong. More fool them. Continually pointing the finger and shouting racist doesn't change what has happened. All it does is deflect from the real story and what people should focus on. You've made your point so just move on or take it to the thread on racism.

There's 3 dead children, killed by a 17 year old kid!! Imagine if one was yours. Just to be clear, people aren’t allowed to clarify the nationality of an individual to ensure the correct information is made available, but you’re ok to post stuff dismissing any possible discussion of the individual’s mentality? Hypocrisy. As for your final sentence, it shows your lack of reading how people digest and discuss these topics. Do you honestly think people don’t take a moment to try and reflect on what it would be like if it happened to their child/loved ones? It will go through everyone’s mind. Just because they don’t immediately jump online and post that doesn’t mean they don’t give pause for thought. But to answer your fairly redundant question I would be bereft beyond words. And guess what, I honestly believe I wouldn’t give a flying **** if the perpetrator were from Rwanda or Birmingham or if they had mental health issues or if they were of relatively sound mind.
