The main one being he's been here for a while now. I believe he's a good enough manager to know how he wants this team to play, who will play for him, what he needs to get us to play how he wants us to play, who he can sell etc etc, even if he hasn't been able to have much effect so far. Whatever he's tried to get from this team hasn't worked. I'd argue that's MORE down to the squad he was left with and the state it was in than his ability, but again I acknowledge that it's hard to argue he's done as well as any of us hoped he would. If we get a new guy in in the summer, then we're back to square one. Same shitty squad being handed over and he has to decide on the clearout. I think there are huge risks in that. Obviously there are managers who will do a good job, but there's also a shit load who could get it very wrong. Like I've said previously, I honestly don't know if I want Garde here next year. Part of me does, and thinks he could be a success, but again that's a gamble because it's all based on the hunch that once he gets a few of his own players he'll be able to implement his style on the team. This is exactly where I am. Remi should have done better, we should have got more results, but the backdrop he's working under is horrendous. To some extent it's better the devil you know...I seriously worry about who we'll be able to get next. To go for Pearson is another in the continued flip-flop between managerial 'types' and reinforces the lack of any clarity of what Aston Villa is as a club and how we play football. We need a consistent vision and to pick managers that can deliver that.

All this without a premier league standard striker or goalkeeper. He should be given this summer to build his team. In this good spell, we played a league 2 side twice. Popular Post foreveryoung
My opinion. Swap Ranieri with Remi, an i'm sure with this squad, you wouldn't have seen much better..
Popular Post Hughes
Imagine if the club came out and said (i), they are 100% behind Garde and (ii) that they acknowledge that a complete clear out of players not having the right attitude will now take place in cooperation between Garde and the board, and (iii) the club will now prepare for the Championship with Garde as the manager and with the clear ambition to be promoted next season. Will of course never happen but that would be refreshing and provide a "new start" as required.

Going by what Hollis & Bernstein have said, it could also happen. The real problem is getting rid of all the cancer instead of hiring a manager who'll give Gaby, Guzan, Hutton, Richards, Lescott, Sinclair, Westwood & Bacuna yet another chance to prove how shit they are albeit in a lower league.

At least the Cancer now has the medication. Ok its not a cure, but i'm sure it will make us better in the long run.

There's no guarantee we will be able to shift the players or bring in the required amount of quality, so we could look incredibly daft in the summer. Also, if Garde stays then it's safe to say we're going to lose nearly all remaining games. I don't see how a manager can rectify that sort of losing streak over a summer. I think relationships between manager and players and manager and fans would be so broken it would have a negative impact at the start of next season.
