JAMAICAN-VILLAN
Aston Villa Black Friday bargains: The cut-price deals that Remi Garde should consider in the January transfer window 08:00, 27 NOV 2015 BY ALEX DICKEN Here's 5 players who could be available without breaking the claret and blue bank. SHARES COMMENTS Aston Villa train before the Everton game With shoppers descending on supermarkets to fight it out for the best bargains that Black Friday has to offer, we've had a quick look at who Aston Villa could get on the 'cheap' this January. By cheap, we're not talking flatscreen telly from Tesco 'cheap (other stores are available), but here's 5 players who could be available without breaking the claret and blue bank. Victor Valdes Victor Valdes One thing that Remi Garde may look to add this January is competition for current no.1 Brad Guzan. The American has made a few high profile errors this season and would have found himself out of the team if Villa had a strong enough back-up goalkeeper. Valdes will be available in January after a falling out with Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal. The deal would have to be a loan with Manchester United subsidising his hefty wage packet, but it seems feasible. The Spaniard is keen to test himself in the Premier League, with Newcastle United also said to be interested. Kevin Nolan Kevin Nolan Given the lack of goal scoring midfielders in the Premier League at the moment, it is strange to see that nobody has taken a chance on the former West Ham United skipper. Nolan has all but guaranteed goals at the three clubs he has represented throughout his career so far. Not only would he provide Villa with a much-needed midfield threat, but he would add a wealth of top flight knowledge to what is a very inexperienced team. Having also captained Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United, Nolan clearly has the leadership skills that the claret and blues so desperately crave. Patrick Bamford Action Images / Lee Smith Patrick Bamford There has been a distinct lack of goals at Villa Park for some time now, in fact, the Villans have only found the net 86 times in their last 82 league games in front of their own fans. Chelsea youngster Bamford seems a viable solution. Despite being on a season-long loan at Crystal Palace there have been murmurs of his parent club using their call-back option due to the lack of game time the 22-year-old has been exposed to. And having been named the Championship player-of-the-year last season, there is no reason why he shouldn’t be able to make Premier League grade should Villa persuade Chelsea to temporarily part with him in January. Jordan Rhodes Jordan Rhodes Villa’s signing of Rudy Gestede raised a few eyebrows during the summer, especially after it came to light that his former strike partner Rhodes may have been available too. The Blackburn striker has guaranteed 20-goals a season throughout his entire career and should have already been given his chance in the top tier. Despite suffering injury in the first game of the season and not being involved for the couple of weeks that followed, Rhodes has hit the ground running upon his return. Nine goals already this term suggest that he will hit the magic 20-goal mark for the seventh season on the trot. He could be available on the cheap in January with Paul Lambert's Blackburn currently under a transfer embargo, but they will be reluctant to let him go for less than the £8 million they shelled out for him three years ago. But compared to the £24 million Villa paid for Darren Bent in 2011, that is merely pocket change. Sandro Ramirez Sandro Ramirez The Barcelona youngster has found first team opportunities limited this year, with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar all ahead of the 20-year-old in the Camp Nou pecking order. It is rumoured that the striker could be on his way out in January, whether it be on loan or a permanent deal. Like fellow La Masia graduate Adama Traore, Barca may opt to sell Sandro in January but include a buy-back clause in the deal. Sandro has just four first team goals to his name for the treble-winners, but he was prolific during his time with the Barcelona B team and could help solve Villa’s goal scoring woes. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-black-friday-bargains-10509800?
Stevo985 Posted November 27, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted November 27, 2015 Valdes would be a good signing. I don't think he'd entertain the idea of coming here for a second though. And if he did we'd have to pay him a **** tonne of money.

El-Reacho
Those 5 would be a satisfying January. Not sure Nolan's a Remi Garde type player but he's got premier league experience which is supposedly key according to the meeja.
cbr600rr
i would get daddy long legs , proven in the prem & knows the club from his time before, better option from what we have- FACT. wont cost a lot so randy will be happy

I'd actually disagree with all those 5 apart from Valdes, although admittedly I know nothing about Ramirez so that's out of not having enough knowledge. But I don't think Nolan, Bamford or Rhodes would be what we're looking for. Out of the three I'd say Rhodes is the most likely to add something. (but where we're going, we don't need Rhodes) #recyclingjokes

Stevo985 Posted November 27, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted November 27, 2015 Fair enough. I think he's a lot better than Guzan (and I like Guzan) but wouldn't disagree with the rest of your post.
Nigel Posted November 27, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted November 27, 2015 I think Nolan is a good shout in the short term.
VillaJ100
I think with wages we need to be spending close to 100 million to repair the vast damage done to the club.
