He won't have a free pass though will he. At least 80 Tory MP's vote are likely to vote to get rid tonight, many of them will openly state they have. They will then have no issue making things very awkward for him in the commons just has happened with May. Whatever happens tonight Johnson is weak now and on borrowed time. A tiny bit less than May won by, a vote that he helped instigate.

It's absolutely not. It's just a rule set by the 1922 Committee. It's not a law, or voted on by party members. They could change the rule tomorrow if MPs felt strongly enough about it. Rodders
Nadine Dorries is unwell. And has been for so long I almost feel reluctant to mock her. Feels like punching a blind man. Who's asleep.

Jareth
Dorries is making it very much worse. Politicians have off the record chats all of the time - to use anything from the past in this public way is only going to turn more Tory MPs against Boris and his attack dogs. Davkaus
She's not unwell, she's just a particularly blunt tool in a cabinet of hopelessly incompetent sycophants. Those who defend him do so because they know that no other PM would surround themselves with losers to act as meat shields. Dorries has no qualities that qualify her for cabinet other than being willing to eat Johnson's shit and claim it's chocolate, and once he's out on his arse, she won't be far behind.

Chindie Posted June 6, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted June 6, 2022 Dorries is just the lowest type of party political zombie, mindlessly doing whatever her superiors want so she can sniff the farts of power for another brief moment.

I think you can see witless pricks are determined to be witless pricks, and it seems despite the silence from most, when they do pipe up they're still witless pricks.
