Sunak’s parents and wife clearly wanted him to be PM.

He’s done that now.

They should have wanted him to be a good PM. Does he have any brothers or sisters?

Police reopening their investigation into the christmas party - almost like they're less afraid of the Johnson crew than they used to be.

Think the one they're looking at is Bernard Jenkin, his wife and others which the Johnson crew are fully in favour of to show the supposed hypocrisy of the people who judged him.

I'm fully in favour of the police investigating any Tory MP that fancy, for the record.

It's the London Mayor one, where a video of it was provided by the Daily Mirror - new evidence, possibly also inviting "review" of statements given by people interviewed who maybe didn't tell the truth? Possible double set of charges?

And then one that @ml1dch mentions above

Fast forward 10 years and it’ll finally come out half the people at these parties were undercover Met officers monitoring whether there were parties.

And were probably all spit roasting that posh bird in the red dress.

Will they be interviewing the police officers guarding Downing street who failed to report the boxes of alcohol and “guests” going in after hours?

Just imagine if they actually announce this shuffling-deckchairs-on-the-Titanic nonsense while half the country can't feed their kids.

It’s worse than rearranging the deckchairs. It’s more like stealing all the chairs on the ship and throwing them overboard

At the last council elections Tamworth switched from Conservative to no overall party control.

When the new leadership team came in they made a parting shot at those ousted by stating they recognised that the appalling state of the roads was a major concern for the people of Tamworth and they would address it. They said that although work is “owned” by Staffordshire County Council it’s the job of the borough councillors to lobby and ensure sufficient funding is in place and that the work happens. The Tories weren’t doing that. They just said it wasn’t within their remit.

They’ve stayed true to the word and it’s impossible to drive more than about half a mile now without coming to some temporary lights and road repairs. Short term pain but long term gain.

**** the Tories.

Tory motto

For years they did nothing and left it looking like surface of the moon.

Within a few weeks there’s teams all over the place resurfacing.

Doing a proper job or patching it up for a few weeks/months?

We had them filling the holes on my street a couple of months ago, most of the potholes are back and even bigger now, absolute **** waste of time. We've got double decker buses driving over these bodge jobs and the fixes may as well be papier mache.

I’m not an expert but I think they’re doing it properly. They have the traffic lights setup so I’m taking that as a sign they aren’t rushing it in half an hour.

Time will tell.

By-election fun again.

Chris Pincher set to be suspended for six weeks, so a Tamworth by-election on the horizon.

Eddie Hughes has already been announced as the candidate for the General Election for Tamworth, leaving Walsall North which is being scrapped in the boundary changes.

So he's presumably going to have to quit WN to fight the Tamworth by-election, risking losing both seats if Labour can take Tamworth (big majority, but Labour during the Blair years).

Followed by the most pointless by-election back in Walsall for the last year of its existence.

8 weeks announced just now not 6 but yes if someone could organise a recall petition that would be grand
