The first order of business for the next government should be a full inquiry into corruption in parliament, particularly from 2015 onwards, with a view to criminal charges. Obviously that won't happen though.
Genie
Another million dropping into his office Quote A company set up by ex-PM Boris Johnson after he left Downing Street, has received a £1m donation from crypto currency investor Christopher Harborne, parliamentary records show. Lots of people want to donate a lot of money all of a sudden. bbc

A majority of the House of Commons in favour of one. The fact that there can't be a General Election anytime soon is one thing that isn't the fault of the Government - it's 100%, squarely on the shoulders of the millions of people who thought that this bunch (or a bunch of very similar, adjacent people) were worthy of a large enough majority which meant an election wasn't going to happen until their party had served a full term. DCJonah
I miss integrity and consequences. When neither exist at the highest level of government then what impact does that have on society?

Jonesy7211
Lovely headline from the Heil and The Tories today https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11665761/Covid-convinced-Brits-Tories-claim.html#comments Quote Tories voiced alarm that Covid created a 'something for nothing' culture in Britain today as it emerged over half received more from the State than they put in for the first time. Some 36million people live in households that get more from the Government than they pay in tax, according to a study by Civitas. The findings are based on the most recent official data from 2020-21, and reflect the huge support put in place by ministers to keep the country going during lockdown. If we're going down the something for nothing route then there's likely to be 356 sitting MP's milking second and third jobs, cash for PPE that never worked, questionable tax methods, dodgy donations, and links to Russian money off the top of my head. They love kicking the poor and the foreign. Oh, and the headline is totally inaccurate too. It's an estimate based on not what people directly receive, but a total guess based on what they believe people are getting from secondary sources such as treatment from the NHS. Really boils my piss, yet people will read this and happily blame the poor, unemployed, immigrants, and those with health issues for some of the issues we have. Utterly disgusting and another way of keeping people from unifying. Edited January 23, 2023 by Jonesy7211
