I'm looking forward to election season, when Tory voters who know nothing about economics saying things like "if you know anything about economics you wouldn't be voting Labour"

Not sure that'll fly this time

I know the tories have been absolutely shit for ages.

But how on earth has it come to this

“It can’t be any worse” probably the most inaccurate sentence to be said regarding the last 12 years

They can’t hide behind Covid, Putin, Brexit or anything else either.

This latest crisis is 100% down to their own idiocy.

Truss already said in one of the interviews this morning that the current issues are nothing to do with the government, it's all because of the Ukraine war.

Applies to Villa as well :D

Plenty said that under Lerner

It's a very damaging phrase

As above.

But here's another.

She thought she was going to get a load of softball questions she could bat away with big picture soundbites. Instead, because her government is ALREADY an unmitigated disaster that everyone can see, the local radio people didn't let her get away with that tactic, and then a decent chunk of them also whacked her with local issues she clearly didn't have a clue about and, evidently, didn't really give a flying **** about either.

Edit

And another

Excruciating. The economy going even further down the shitter at a rate of knots after the Chancellor opened his mouth is actually, apparently, Putin's fault. Absolutely bereft of thought.

So she goes on the radio and doesn’t confirm people’s pensions are safe… is she really that **** stupid???

What does she think is going to happen now to peoples pension pots?

This disastrous mini-budget is gonna have more waves than covid.

She's so bad at speaking and knowing why she has done what she's done.

It should be said this is a normal 'event' pre-conference, apparently. The leadership does a round robin of local media interviews, and usually they get ignored in the national stage. But Truss, because she's a moron and leads a completely mental government, has created the situation where everybody wants to hear what she's got to say, and everybody is so concerned about the recent events that everyone wants an answer or some reassurance. So she's got this. A situation that usually would be fairly fluffy, and even if you made a bit of a hash of it isn't going to be wider news, has been turned into a national stage for her to look like the complete smooth brained scarecrow she is.

It'd be glorious if her decisions weren't basically priming the country for a lot of hurt.
