Genie
She is going to crash and burn faster than anyone could imagine. I think the knives will be out by Christmas. Johnson has used up all peoples tolerances for “maybe there’s some method in the madness”.
Genie
Levelling down anyone? Quote Liz Truss has said she wants to save taxpayers' money by ending national pay deals for civil servants' pay. The Tory leadership candidate wants to link civil servants' salaries to living standards where they work, meaning similar jobs could have different salaries depending on location. Ms Truss says the scheme could be rolled out to other public sector areas, saving £8.8bn a year. Link

They know backing Sunam will mean that they are unlikely to get cabinet position. However, with nearly half the MPs backing him, it would seem quite likely there will be a fair number of rebellions…

As a party though they tend to row in behind a new leader pretty meekly. They take a position of the members having spoken, and their life is always going to be easier if they don't piss the members off. I expect whoever loses won't rock the boat too much. In HoC votes anyway, obviously the sniping in the press will be off the scale. Edited August 2, 2022 by ml1dch

Genie
So she’s gonna get tough with the EU but folds like a pack of cards when her stupid ideas are criticised Quote Liz Truss has scrapped a plan to link public sector pay to local living costs. The Conservative leadership candidate had said she wanted to introduce regional pay boards, in a bid to save a potential £8.8bn. However, there was a fierce backlash to the policy from several senior Tories, who argued it would mean lower pay for millions of workers outside London. The Truss team have now said the proposal will not be taken forward. Link
