I believe he’s been to a total of 0 of the meetings with the RMT about the current dispute with them. It's only a day or two ago he insisted that he was not the right person to be engaged in talks about the strikes. Finally, something we can all agree on.

'Not a single day without strike action....that is not normal' Errr. If something happens all the time, by definition it is normal. There not being strike action is abnormal. What a knob.

Nicho
I am now at the point where you surely cannot back this government from any angle. There is no consistent position. The new price hike from Martin Lewis should be the end, unfortunately the poor seem to be the patriotic so vote for the abusers.

I reckon the answer is in the second half of my post - a third of the parliamentary party is no longer old Tory. They're Johnson-loyal because they wouldn't be MPs without him. The Paterson affair has turned a lot of them off Johnson, having been ordered to put their careers on the line for a corrupt scumbag who none of them even know. So their only party loyalty in the event of Johnson's humiliation is to whoever they think keeps them there a bit longer. The Sunak market will be a bit saturated with the crowd you describe, so why not get in on the ground floor with the person that the members want? If an election were held tomorrow, it would be something like Mark Harper, Kwasi Kwarteng and Dominic Raab dropping out in the first round after getting nobody to vote for them, Hunt then falling after he realised there are no Tory wets left apart from him, Gove getting to the last three and being told that he would lose 90-10 to either Truss or Sunak with the members, Sunak getting twice the MP support as Truss and then Truss winning with the members 60-40. Or something like that anyway. Apart from failing to correctly get the also-rans and the presence of Gove, this from last November looks like a pretty darn good prediction. Even down to the precise timing of Hunt's departure.

desensitized43
Latest from planet dorries is a retweet of a picture of Johnson as julius caeser while Sunak is depicted as (I guess) Brutus knifing him in the back. Absolutely bonkers.

bickster Posted July 31, 2022 Moderator Share Posted July 31, 2022 So todays red meat for Tory penises Sunak: Going to fine people for missing Doctors appointments etc. Another dickhead policy that will cost more than is recoups. How many days into this new policy before they fine a dead person. Not many you'd imagine (the delay will only come from the administrative delay) Truss: Going to shake up Higher Education by not allowing people to apply to University until they have their results. I suspect this will just push 18 year olds onto unemployment benefit for a year as I highly doubt you'll be be able to allocate and organise the whole thing in four weeks you f***ing thick word removed
