They've realised that they've essentially coordinated slagging themselves off on national TV. I'm glad the daft **** realised a week too late.

It's what they wanted. It just highlights how monumentally stupid this bunch of words removed actually are

Their whole Leadership process is as usual a fudge, a compromise and completely illogical, like pretty much everything they do. It's the perfect way for the country to see how amazingly divided, inept and stupid the Tory Party is

The aura of the Tory Party always showing a united front is bust wide open.

They should be made to do it this way every time :D

Just think how absolutely stupid this process is

I can't think of any other election that is held this way and remember it's only an election to be a candidate in an election

They could easily have got the nominations phase out of the way. Right you lot have reached the threshold. Hold one round of hustings (somewhere in Westminster) and Single Transferable Vote to whittle it down to the final two. Put the final two down to the membership with one round of Hustings on say Russia Today for the membership to watch where the people who really support the MPs are coming from and thats it

Just remember, this is the way they want it but no-one else is allowed this luxury of perpetually whittling down the candidates one at a time and the dirty tricks and getting people to vote for different candidates is what they actually want. So Mordor complaining about the smears and the dirty tricks, should have raised those concerns with the 1922 committee at the start or before this processs began. It's what they and she wanted.

That's sound a little too much like voting reform for the Tories. Don't want people thinking there's alternatives to FPTP and it isn't the best method out there

Its not even FPTP

It's Last Past The Post for as many rounds as required to get the candidates down to 2, then it's FPTP

Just commenting on the methodology regardless of what the election is, its fricking insane

It's like they were stoned when someone explained STV to them and they went off on a wild tangent that made perfect sense whilst someone was still passing the doobie around. Some idiot actually wrote it down and they didn't think about it ever again

Yeah but don't forget the Tory party MPs and party members are much more intelligent that the rest of the plebs so they can understand other voting methods rather than FPTP. Plebs though should stick to FPTP and not worry their tiny brains about it.

He porbably still has a vasted interest in it though 🙂

No, absolutely doesn't. It's owned by Comcast. Comcast is the second largest Broadcast and Telecoms provider in the world. Fox / Murdoch is very much a smaller rival.

Comcast is not the darling of the right that Fox is. In the US it's stable includes the bete noire of the right wing, the incredibly "woke" MSNBC

Since it changed hands the News reporting on Sky has been much more balanced than it ever was when owned by Murdoch

You know the last few days of school before breaking up for the holiday, when they’d let you play games, have toys in…we’re firmly in that stage with Johnson’s tenure now (although, I suspect he’s always kinda been in that mode).

Taking the taxpayer for a ride while often not even doing the bare minimum is the story of his premiership. He's a lot more brazen in the last week though. Give the **** a bill for the fuel.

People: "the debates were mostly awful, but at least Tom Tugendhat looked sensible and competent"

Tory MPs:

He has far too much common sense for the Tory party.  He knew he was out from the last round but did the 2 debates to raise his profile.

From the sounds of it, Tory Party HQ agree. Sunak and Truss have pulled out of the next debate so Sky have cancelled it.

Tory party HQ realised it makes ALL of the candidates and the entire party look like clowns.

Shows how out of touch they are. Tugendhat looked like the only that wanted "change" hence why he went against the others and had the courage to say boris is a liar.

Yet he will be the 1st out later. Shows they are not really after change and its all BS

Don't fool yourself, the whole point of him standing was to raise his profile.

He's also still a Tory who wants to do Tory things

I'm convinced Truss will win this. Sunak and Mordaunt are far too much like media-ordained frontrunners for the members to feel fully comfortable with them, while Truss has that whole deputy-headteacher-failing-upwards vibe they seem to fall for.

She also has the support of the ERG/Tory right over Brexit and the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill. Badenoch has the support of them, too, but... let's be real, having her as PM is never going to happen (the Tories are far too hide-bound to allow it).

I agree, it's going to be Truss. And she's going to make Theresa May look like a genius.
