Can he unilaterally call an election?

I think he can because the FPA 2011 has been repealed. He just needs to visit the Queen and ask for a disolution

You mean a snap election?

I can't see him doing that he's in a far worse position than May when she tried it and it backfired big time.

He'll call an election before he resigns.

Yes, he will go with the “I’ll bring you all with me” and he’s probably threatened an election too.

But he will want to bring everybody down with him.

I want more resignations but want him to cling on. We thinks it’s shit now….

He might do it just to survive a few more weeks. He doesn’t plan anything longer than that.

I think he'd do that before he resigns. Should be a fun few days

if he does it's an absolute Hail Mary. He'd have to win that election otherwise the Tory Party would be damaged beyond repair. In fact just calling it might just do that

He will see if as calling an election will keep him in power longer than he would without, I think. He will - and I hope this - try and bring them all down.

No sympathy at all for those who backed him over and over. They even had the VONC and still chose to keep him.

The lack of foresight is staggering. There was no other possible ending.

If he does do that, there is a distinct possibility of two Tory Parties fighting the election

That’s a solid and fair point. What a mess! 😂

He's got it as a weapon though: "take me down? I'll take you with me"

Boris cares about nothing but himself
