VillaChris
It was in the Mail a few days back....Sherwood was commenting on it and said he was disappointed Adama was taking this long to get fit.... Here it is: Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has admitted at his pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup third round tie against Birmingham City that Adama Traore’s slow recovery from his ankle injury has left him frustrated.Signed from Barcelona for around £7 million in August, Traore made a hot start to his Villa career when he came off the bench to help create his side’s goal in last month’s 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace. After his impressive debut display, the 19-year-old winger subsequently earned his first start for the club in the 5-3 Capital One Cup victory over Notts County and opened his claret and blue account with a fine first-half finish. However, the Spanish-born Malian had to be substituted just over an hour into the second round clash after taking a knock to his ankle and has not been back in action since.Villa received a boost when he resumed light training this week but the former Spain Under-19 international is all but certain to miss the Birmingham game at this point, leaving Sherwood needing to find an attacking spark from elsewhere."Adama’s still short of fitness. It’s taking an awful long time,” said the Villa boss. “I’m a little bit disappointed with it, but it is what it is. Obviously it was a more complex injury than we gave it credit for in the first place.“He’s out of the boot now and making progress but it’s very slow. You could do with a maverick type like Adama tomorrow evening.”http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/09/21/aston-villa-boss-tim-sherwood-frustrated-by-adama-traores-slow-r/Kind of fits in with the you're not playing in the Segunda now son, pull yourself together. If Sherwood has gone on to say it's clearly a more extensive injury than they had first thought, it's through no fault of the lad's that he's not back to form yet. I mean, if they've just gotten him out of the boot, how much is reasonable to expect?

KSV
you do have to wonder about our medical team. Cant blame them for the amount of injuries over the years.. but theres always been cases where the player prefers to go to a doctor they know as ours havent solved the issues. Recently as Gueye going back to France.. or Benteke going back to Belgium. I wonder if we are up to scratch in this field..

Recently as Gueye going back to France.. or Benteke going back to Belgium. I wonder if we are up to scratch in this field..FWIW I think it's fairly common for player to go to see specialists. Gueye had hamstring issues before so it makes sense he goes back to a doctor that knows his medical history. J.Henderson at Liverpool recently went to the US to see a heel specialist. We can't hire doctors who are specialists in every area.

NeilS
Adama is back in light training according to Sherwood in the pre match news conference, with Gana being assesed for fitness before the squad travel. I guess we won't see these two this weekend, but hopefully soon they will be back in contention as long as there are no set backs.

If there were any doubts on their fitness though, I would prefer we be patient rather than set them back on their recovery.

VillaChris
Sub with view to him starting next week v Stoke.I've always said we will only start winning a few games in the prem when we can get Grealish and Traore starting in the team together as that hasn't happened yet and something like Chelsea away dosen't count. You talk about Costa this, Costa that, but how is that fair if my left back can't keep up? You tell me'*Storms down tunnel complaining of a conspiracy. maqroll
WE should hire Eve Carrierro, or whatever her name is. Because she looks good, and that permeates around the clubhouse and increases endorphins, which stimulates blood flow which helps injuries heal faster.
