P3te
By keeping Benteke, Delph and Westwood and spending £50Mil+ on the team. That's what it'll take to get 10 more points than we did this season? You honestly believe that?

For what you're proposing I'd be expecting 7th as a minimum TBH
useless
Yes if we go through with my plans I'd think that we should at least be challenging for top six and finishing in the top ten easy.
maqroll
Every position needs to be challenged for in training, IMO, with the exception of Benteke. That means a massive spend, back to front. We have our strongest midfield in the least 15 years, but it never hurts to have competition.
Keyblade
Delph, Cleverley, Sanchez, Westwood and Gardner is enough competition for 2-3 spots I'd imagine.
PieFacE Posted May 18, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted May 18, 2015 Not a lot really. Replace Sylla, Tonev, Bennett, Helenius with half decent players who can challenge for a first team spot and we're there.

Eames
Top Ten in the league? This team would need £50m minimum spent on it. At least one new CB, a LB and a Benteke replacement for starters. Possibly a GK as well.

Because that's what it'll take for top 10 The squad we've got right now should be able to finish 8-10th without a penny being spent on it
Mic09
to be fair if we were a little more lucky this year we would have scraped those extra 10 points. But then again, we could have had 10 less then we have now.
sne
To start with it would cost at least £10 million just to keep Cleverly & Sinclair. Edited May 18, 2015 by sne
P3te
to be fair if we were a little more lucky this year we would have scraped those extra 10 points. We lost what, 8 in a row and 6 in a row over different periods under lambert this season didn't we? To get top 10 you need a win, a loss and a draw, on average every 3 games. That won't cost 50m to attain

If nothing else that a like for like Benteke replacement will take up 50% of that budget.
P3te
To start with it would cost at least £10 million just to keep Cleverly & Sinclair. Sinclair has a fee agreed of 2.5m and Cleverley is on a free. Sinclair on around 40k and cleverley on 55k would be around 5m. That's 7.5m, leaving 42.5m left from a 50m pot
