Read the post again Snowy me old cocker. I don't need to spell it out surely

I read the post and what you posted had little if anything to do with what Stefan posted.

It suggests that you missed the point of his post.

Where are you even going with this?

Well Graham thinks that hard work brings success. It's central to the conservative ethos that hard work gives you rewards and everyone has a chance to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. I'm obviously lazy because I'm not a millionaire or even billionaire. Jeff Bezos must have worked incredibly hard to get to where he is. If what Graham is saying is true then he either is rich and works hard or isn't rich and is lazy.

I was 'around' in those times ( 1970's) I was also a shop steward at the Rover plant at the time. It was bloody frightening, anybody who disagreed with the Senior Shop Steward ( who was pi##ssed every afternoon) was out of a job. Most people would have no idea why they were even on strike, they were just told to go home......

VLD.

I was there too....and that’s bullshit.

No it isn't, and if you were there you would know that. I was in the paint shop and worked in the spray booths ( 30 minutes 'on' an hour and a half off). Gilbert was the paint shop manager.....what's your story.......do you have one?

VLD.

P.S. I could write a bloody book about the car industry , I worked at Rover ( Solihull ), Longbridge and Jaguar ( Browns Lane).

I was in the SD1 assembly, then the old Land Rover Assembly, then North Works Range Rover , then the body shop then T5 then the new light platform body shop. Total 38 years service. I was a shop Steward for a number of years, starting when Joe Harris was the convenor. I worked with many fine men, and some dedicated trade unionists who gave much of their time to help others. None of us were drunk and none of us played stocks and shares. And I’m still calling bullshit to the picture you paint.Me old China.

You have a very strange idea of Socialism. Kinnock was the moderniser, it was him that dragged the party towards the centre, it was him that expellent the Militant Tendency. Without Kinnock, the Labour Party would never have got anywhere near geting Blair elected. (or John Smith had he lived). As for Ed Milliband being a socialist, you can't actually be serious

It was, I even said so

To me whether they were socialist or partly socialist isn’t really important, they lost.

We currently have the most unsuitable, untrustworthy prime minister I have ever known.Who is responsible for this?

Jeremy Corbyn and his supporters must share some of the blame.Did anyone really believe that was going to win ? .We have discussed 1983 election when Michael Foot was labour leader, did anyone really believe he was going to win ?

If Labour wants to be a protest movement where people stick firmly to socialist views and the members feel they are not selling out then that’s fine if it wants to win elections it needs to look at history and change.

Okay Mere,

An example of the 'fine men' who represented their mates on the tracks...

At one of my first meetings ( as a shop steward ) to discuss a 'manning' issue in the paint shop I raised my hand to ask for further discussions instead of walking off the job. I was pinned to the wall by two of the Senior Shop Stewards and told that if I didn't shut up that they would 'fill me in'. This was the years before Edwards decided to sort the unions out'.

Edwards gave the full time Senior Shop Stewards an ultimatum either to do a proper job on the tracks or leave....they all left....

Hope you enjoyed my history lesson.....I have others ,but time now for my Hot Chocolate.....tat ta....

I think you have beaten me to it me old cocker.....

A pity, as people should know how things really were in the 70's in the car industry,

Pretending that this is not how things were is not helping anybody to learn from the mistakes from the past,

As I said, I was there. I know how things were. They weren’t as you portray them.

No, you weren't there at all.

History should be told honestly don't you think?

And no, I didn't spend 38 years there either, who would?

Oh these trots, oh these leftie tyrants... I can guarantee you that you will not find abhorrence of racism in general  in this thread. Have anyone on here really suffered discrimination? Tim Montgomerire clearly thinks not. Labour can prioritise antisemitism all they like - there is a clear hierarchy of racism in this country and it will not be ignored. BTW Dawn was just pulled over, for nothing, an M ferkin P.
