Honestly I'm past caring or thinking it really matters.

So on that basís I guess you wont  be voting Labour  at next election? I have voted Conservative in last few elections and if May is PM then I cant for the life of me see who I would vote for at next election as I really dislike her and Labour are a laughing stock at the moment

Quietly, since the referendum Labour has gained around 130,000 new members. This is actually nearly as many people as the Tory party's entire membership.

Hmmm makes you wonder if they are the same people, might explain Corbyn's selection.

Looks like Corbyn will be deposed without members getting a say at all. Graun:

'It is understood that Labour’s national executive committee will convene a special meeting on Tuesday to rule on whether Corbyn, who has very limited support in parliament, needs to have the support of 51 MPs to get on the ballot paper alongside Eagle and any other contenders. The Labour party has taken legal advice, which indicates that he will need to find the nominees, in line with the precedent set in 1988 when Neil Kinnock was challenged by Tony Benn.

Also set to be discussed is the timing of a cut-off after which newly signed members will not be eligible to vote on the leadership and the arrangements for the “registered supporters” deal under which any member of the public could pay £3 to have a vote.'

Seems they won't be taking any risk of him winning again.

If Labour dont have corbyn the ballot, they can to go hell for forever and a day. The stubborn blindness to understanding the need for fundamental change in british society which has not been so unequal (from a wage distribution perspective ) since the turn of the 20th century will kill them. The rumoured talk with other tories for another party just confirms the reality that many of them are careerist dickheads only interested in playing a politics by numbers for their own gain and ignoring the economic fate of people they ought to represent. **** 'em.

Labour are going to loose the next election anyway. Electing a new leader is probably more about keeping the party as a centre left parliamentary party and mainting where it has been for around 25 years.

A split looks inevitable the question is which is the least bad split:-

  1. The parliamentary labour party MP'S leave and form a new center left party (should Corbyn be on the ballot paper and win)
  2. Or the Hard left and support of Unite are  marginalised and withdraw funding from the labour party (should Corbyn be prevented from being on the ballot paper and eagle or an other win)

Personally I think option 2 is the better option from a labour point of view.

Or if Corbyn is left of the ballot paper and Owen Smith wins a leadership election - he may be able to get the unions back on board.

IMO if Corbyn wins a re run - the labour party as a credible opposition will fall into the hands of the socialist worker party - and cease to be the major opposition.

I honestly cannot believe the labour party have imploded as badly as they have been. i actually think corbyn would do better than red ed did in an election.

I think they realise the next election is lost - so have decided to 'have it out' now. If there was a feasible chance of labour winning the next election - I doubt labour would have imploded. But if Labour were to implode now is a good time - with whats going to take place over the next few years - Corbyn v Eagle will be pretty small soon forgotten news..

"Hmm, how do I make sure I capture the woman vote?"

It's as patronising as that **** pink bus that Harman had last year.

Angela Eagle at her press conference in London to launch her Labour party leadership bid.

So she's not just launching her new perfume range then?
