I know where this stupid bollocks comes from, and some fools clearly believe it because they are just that, but even some rational people seem to have fallen for this bollocks.

Labour are clearly not now a dyed in the wool socialist party but they are still miles away from even being like moderate Tories never mind the far right that this carnation of the Tory party has morphed into over the last handful of years.

Labour won't continue to wilfully destroy the NHS, Labour won't continue to happily introduce policies that will see living standards fall for the masses or introduce policies that see huge increases in those living in poverty, including millions of children, Labour won't continue to underfund councils to the point that many of them are either already bankrupt or on the verge of issuing bankruptcy notices, underfunding which has had a huge negative impact on services such as social care. Labour won't continue to create straw men to divide the population and Labour will bring back some semblance of respect to politics.

What there won't be though is any quick fixes for the diabolical mess they are inheriting with the country in a way worse state than even the mess they inherited in 1997. You don't fix over 14 years of wilful destruction in months. It will take years but we will at least have a party with the genuine will and ambition to fix it rather than the party that, having set fire to the country, now has the brass neck to ask us to trust them to rebuild it.

Or take it at face value as a joke…

The blue ‘modernise the NHS’ sign is being held by the Welsh Health Secretary, campaigning in Wales.

Health is devolved. Labour have been in charge of the NHS in Wales for 25 years.

The economy was on the up in 1997. You could even argue that it was a result of the hard but mostly necessary decisions made. In the period before Major that allowed the economy to flourish again after the shit storm of 1979.and before basically Blair inherited an economy on the up that cannot be denied

Thankfully most of those people will be Tories. Oddly Mr Sunak seems to be coming up with three of four pieces of absolute nonsense to encourage them to stay at home.

Not necessarily, there's people like myself. I 100% want the Tories out and will not be voting for them. However, I'm not exactly keen on Starmer's Labour and I'm honestly tempted to vote Green. I feel that Labour are going to walk it and don't need my vote, whereas the Green's do. I'm not a fan of the actual Green party (massively full of problems) and I know they won't get in, but I hope if their share of the vote increased the main parties might actually start to care about the environment. I currently live in Cheshire which is traditionally a fairly Blue area, polls say Labour win here but if enough people like me did a 'protest vote' (for want of a better word) would it make a difference?

It could. You'd need to weigh up whether you want to risk your protest vote potentially resulting in the Tory winning. I wouldn't take that risk.

Which part of Cheshire? I'm in macclesfield and according to the polls labour have every chance of winning/ are predicted to win,  which would be the first time macclesfield has had a Labour (at least in name) MP.

I really dislike this iteration of the Labour Party. There's **** all socialism going on.  But I hate the tories and would love to see them routed and unseated.

So I'm going to vote Labour. But I'm a member of the Green Party.  I've got little to no enthusiasm for what Labour will do when they get in.

Surely the time for a protest vote is when they've been in and **** up, not when you don't actually know what they're going to do for you.

Love the sentiment. However, I don’t believe either the main parties will look at any increase in green votes as an incentive to be more “green” they just see it as a left leaning protest vote to centre politics.

Then again, the Green Party would love your vote, and more of a share in the national vote might help them get funding to become a better party... Or not, who knows

If I personally was in your position, I’d be working out what I would like the most.. Tories out or Starmer out?

considering that’s the probable realistic choices in your constituency, right?

Hmm not so sure.

Kier Starmer keeps saying that he's changed the Labour Party

You want proof that he's changed the Labour Party and that will be Labour not allowing Abbott to stand in the election, during the election.

Pisses off a small number of Urban lefties in constituencies with massive majorities. Proves the Labour Party has changed to the sceptics in the centre

Doing it now is absolutely a vote winner

And we're both wrong, because she's back :o

Not far from Crewe. Latest polls I've seen say Labour walk it, but polls rarely match election day results.

I'll most likely vote Labour. I did for the local police commissioner ones a few weeks ago.

Tories are bad and corrupt, and these Tories are not only ridiculously bad and corrupt but also apparently inept.

I'll vote them out, the question though is 'does my particular vote matter to get them out and is there something Starmer could do to lock my vote down?'

I'm surely not the only person in this position, so Starmer can't just play the 'we're not Tories card' and will have to put some decent policies up.

She’s only back now because of the story Vic Derbyshire broke earlier today.

Shes also only back because she’s agreed not to stand again, so they payoff is she’s allowed to finish her days as a Labour MP

Starmer isn’t going to release massive policies now, for 2 reasons

1 Parliament isn’t dissolved yet and see the story earlier today about Graham Brady refusing to take a letter, that may get more traction yet. The election could still be stopped if they boot Sunak out. Its desperately funny but could still happen

2. He really doesn’t need to yet. When the enemy is shooting themselves etc.
