Villan4Life
Luongo is clearly on the radar. Gladwin was also listed as one of the players to watch out for by Sherwood in that column he did (somebody posted it a while back), so maybe him too. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/tim-sherwood-column-boxing-day-reminds-me-of-the-dreadful-end-to-my-playing-career-9937171.html Ben Gladwin, 22, Swindon Town: He came up through non-league, most recently having played for Marlow, and can play a range of positions including centre-half, wing-back and midfield. Uses his size well. Great feet and technically very confident. Demarai Gray, 18, Birmingham City: He has attracted a lot of interest from Premier League clubs, especially after his hat-trick against Reading last Saturday. I hope if he leaves he joins one that will give him first-team opportunities. Teddy Bishop, 18, Ipswich Town: A very good midfielder who, like Gray, has probably not stopped growing yet. There is great potential there if his development is planned out properly Edited May 11, 2015 by Villan4Life

John
That's the 3rd or 5th Swindon game Sherwood's been at now isn't it? Given what Keane said about him attending our matches could it be that he is now after the Swindon job?

Vancvillan
We could do worse than signing former Swindon players. Luongo, Matt Richie, Michael Carrick, Milner and Charlie Austin? We've already got Shay Given. We'd be in trouble if we used the same pool for our next manager. Gus Poyet, Paul Ince or Glenn Hoddle anyone? Grasshopper
Sidney Sam anyone? Edit: late to the party. I am keen on him, he had real potential and I think that potential is still there. Never had issues with attitude before, is quick and has talent. Would be a great option to have if they are looking to discard him on the cheap. Boateng on the other hand, I would not touch with a bargepole Sidney Sam? No thanx luxury player, hides when the going gets tough
Villan4Life
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3077310/Tim-Sherwood-stands-Aston-Villa-boss-runs-rule-Swindon-Town-midfielder-Massimo-Luongo.html Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood was in the stands for Swindon Town's pulsating 5-5 draw with Sheffield United in the League One play-off semi-final at the County Ground, a result which saw The Robins progress 7-6 on aggregate. Sherwood, who was accompanied on Monday night by Villa's head of recruitment Paddy Reilly, has been linked in recent weeks with a move for the home side's star midfielder Massimo Luongo; and their presence will only add fuel to the fire of these reports. Luongo, 22, has been a main-stay in Mark Cooper's team this season, making 39 appearances in all competitions, while scoring six goals. The Australia international, who has 12 senior caps for his country, was previously coached by Sherwood when the pair were both at Tottenham, though only made one appearance for the club's first-team. He spent two separate loan spells at Swindon before making the switch to Wiltshire permanent in 2013. Sherwood is good friends with Swindon chairman Lee Power from their playing days together at Norwich City in the 1990s and that relationship could well play a part in Luongo's future. Former Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry was also at the County Ground on Monday night.

dudevillaisnice
Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has made Brentford goalkeeper David Button one of his top summer targets, which places a question mark over the long-term future of Brad Guzan. Sherwood had dropped Guzan for Villa’s last two games, following the American’s horrendous error at Manchester City. Although Shay Given has replaced Guzan for the victories over Everton and West Ham United, Sherwood is understood to want to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer. He knows Button well from his days at Tottenham, where the 26-year-old started his career and spent seven years but only made one first-team appearance. More crucially, however, Villa goalkeeping coach Tony Parks is a big fan of Button, having also worked with the player at Spurs, and believes the former England youth international can still become one of the country’s top keepers. During his time at Tottenham, Button was loaned out on 13 separate occasions to 11 different clubs. Brentford will not be able to turn down a Villa bid for Button if they cannot overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final against Middlesbrough on Friday night. Villa will attempt to sell one of their goalkeepers to make space for Button and it would seem Guzan is the most likely to go. Given still has 12 months left of his £3million-a-year Villa, which would make the 39-year-old incredibly difficult to sell or even find a club willing to take him on a free transfer and match his wages. The Republic of Ireland’s experience would also make him a good mentor for a younger keeper such as Button. United States international Guzan, who is poised to sit on the substitutes’ bench for the remainder of the season and the FA Cup final, has made 129 appearances for Villa and has two years remaining on his contract. Button is not the only Brentford player Sherwood has been watching, as he is also a big admirer of midfielder Alex Pritchard who is on loan from Tottenham. Tottenham’s plan is to let head coach Mauricio Pochettino have a close look at Pritchard over pre-season before deciding on where he should play his football next season. Even if Spurs decide the 22-year-old is not ready for their first team, it is more likely the club would look to loan him out again rather than try to sell him. With Villa on the brink of securing their Premier League status for next season, planning is tentatively starting for next season and forward Andreas Weimann is among the players who the club will listen to offers for. Sherwood has also been watching midfielder Swindon Town midfielder Massimo Luongo, who was another player he worked with at Tottenham. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/aston-villa/11599079/Aston-Villa-want-to-sign-Brentford-goalkeeper-David-Button.html
KSV
Wow if thats true... could spell the end of Guzan.. maybe he doesnt rate him.. who knows. It could also mean Shay retiring or moving to MLS or something and this Button fella as no.2. Interesting summer ahead regardless. Seems to be we are just going to be linked with former Tottenham youth players.
