maqroll
Padres are for real, that's for sure. Atlanta should've got more in return though, their pocket was picked. Anyways, the new season is here. Boston's bats will be enough in a strangely weak AL East, Cleveland should win the Central, and Seattle or LAA in the West. But Oakland always make noise. This is Cleveland's year in the AL. Washington, the Brewers and LAD in the NL Cleveland over Washington in the World Series.
kurtsimonw
I'm higher on the ChiSox than Cleveland. I'm hoping the NL West beat each other up enough for us to stand a chance. With Wheeler down it's not looking likely, but the Marlins, Braves and Phillies should give us a bunch of wins.
maqroll
Your only way in is winning the division, which is possible.
kurtsimonw
Mejia crying in the clubhouse apparently, already had TJ surgery and got injured before even playing today. Sounds like two straight seasons we've lost our closer on the opening day for the entire year. No Harvey all last year, no Wheeler this year. Would be nice to get a break for one game. kurtsimonw
What do you think of that Porcello contract? 4/$82m is a decent chuck of change.

kurtsimonw
So that's 3 series wins in 4 series, one each against our divisional opponents. Including 1 sweep, and a 2nd sweep if deGrom takes care of business Saturday night. Certainly the kind of start we were looking for. Cuddyer and Duda carrying the offense. maqroll
Wainwright done for the year with a blown achilles. Injured while he was batting too, which surely must bring renewed scrutiny on having pitchers bat in the National League. Pretty devastating blow to the Cardinals, and Wainwright, who was having a great season so far.
maqroll
Mets have a nice division to beat up on. Good to see Harvey pick up where he left off.
kurtsimonw
He hasn't looked as good yet, but with 18 months without pitching in the big leagues it's understandable. But still, him not at his best is still one of the better pitchers in the league.
